The TRIO Upward Bound Vision Quest program (UBVQ) serves 135 students in grades 9-12 at Edison, Roosevelt, South, and Wellstone International High Schools in Minneapolis, and Denfeld High School in Duluth. Our program participants are motivated to successfully complete high school and attend college following their high school graduation. The annual Upward Bound Vision Quest Summer Program is a 6-week college-going experience with unique hands-on learning that helps bridge the learning gap from one school year to the next. Students receive instruction in English, math, science, foreign language for core courses and a diverse array of elective courses to help teach life skills and leadership skills. Our 2024 Summer Program will run from June 24 - August 2, 2024 on the University of Minnesota Twin Cities campus, with the last week being an out-of-state trip.
Summer High School Teacher positions are non-residential limited time/temporary positions. High School Teachers are to teach core academic courses or elective courses, Tuesday thru Thursday, in a block schedule of 2 hours a day either in Session 1 or Session 2 of the Summer Program. Each session is 2 weeks long, totaling to 12 hours of instruction. High School Teachers will be teaching on the University of Minnesota Twin Cities campus. Candidates must be able to commit to teaching a full session (either Session 1 or Session 2) and are required to attend a 4-hour staff training during the week of June 10, 2024. A maximum of two courses per session can be taught during the summer program for each staff member.
