Job Summary:

Under the direction of Sr. Laboratory Manager, the primary responsibility of this position is to plan, coordinate and execute multiple product validation processes and projects used in automotive suspension design and application fields.

Job Responsibilities:

The general responsibility of this position is to support activities of Suspension Design Engineering team by performing combinations of the following tasks:

  • Test project management and execution.
  • Test setup guidance and text fixture design.
  • Test project cost and timing estimates.
  • Servo-Hydraulic test equipment programming.
  • Data acquisition and analysis using MTS Flextest.
  • Keeping detailed records of all applicable testing activities, measurements and data.
  • Conducting tests to determine the root cause of performance problems and developing countermeasures to correct them.
  • Applying engineering expertise and lessons learned to troubleshooting and problem-solving.
  • Test report composition.

Qualifications:

  • A working knowledge of Test Laboratory environment and shock absorber internals is a plus.
  • Mechanical aptitude.
  • Experience in coordinating and facilitating several concurrent projects.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and ability to work independently.
  • Experience with PCs and application software, such as MS Office tools and CAD.

Additionally, the ability to work independently with minimal direction is required as are strong verbal and written communication skills. Experience with PCs and application software, such as MS Office tools is also required.

Education: Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering. (GPA of 3.0 and above)

Experience: Have a minimum of 5-7 years of applicable experience in related field

Job level determined by various factors such as organization size, responsibility, career stage, and capabilities.

Working conditions:

Physical Demands: Required to sit or stand for long periods of time. The employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.

Travel: Domestic and International travel is rate but may be required (less than 5% of time).
