Position

We have a career opportunity for an experienced Contract Manager/Specialist(Attorney or Non-attorney) in our Corporate Law group within the Aon Law & Compliance Department.

The successful candidate will have subject matter expertise in a broad range of commercial transactions including experience with privacy and data protection, with a primary focus on procurement and commercial contracts including master service agreements, statements of work, master software licensing and software as a service agreements (SaaS), and other sourcing, IT and technology related matters. The successful candidate will be adept at identifying, assessing risk and advising on risks, handling partners and prioritizing projects.

The successful candidate will join a team in the Corporate Law group who support a broad array of global corporate law initiatives. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to interact directly with internal senior level partners from around the world, including the global Chief Procurement Officer and regional procurement partners.

The successful candidate will be responsible for negotiation of material supplier contracts and identification and assessment of legal risks related thereto. Aon has over $2 Billion globally in spend with third parties and the successful candidate will work alongside Aon's global spend management function and other key partners in providing effective contracting support.

Requirements

The candidate's skills and qualifications will ideally include:

  • Minimum 8 years commercial contracting experience
  • Non-attorney or attorney qualified in the US and/or Illinois Law firm experience preferred
  • Strong contract negotiation capabilities for commercial contracts for IT services and products, consulting services and professional services.
  • Ability to advise on commercial legal issues at a high level, dealing with senior partners and taking a strategic approach
  • Previous experience with regulatory environments a plus
  • Self- starter capable of handling a multitude of issues at any one time
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent team player
  • Engaging collaboratively
  • Ability to effectively navigate in a matrixed environment and understanding of a shared service operational model
  • Curiosity and creativity and ability to quickly digest and understand complex business issues
  • Strong business acumen and ability to balance risks and commercial benefits

The salary range for this position (intended for U.S. applicants) is $104,000 to $150,000 annually. The actual salary will vary based on applicant's education, experience, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data. The salary may also be adjusted based on applicant's geographic location.

This position is eligible to participate in one of Aon's annual incentive plansto receive an annual discretionary bonus in addition to base salary. The amount of any bonus varies and is subject to the terms and conditions of the applicable incentive plan.
