SUMMARY:

Under supervision, the Student Intern (SI) position provides support to his/her assigned group/team by completing assigned tasks. Desired competencies include: excellent mathematical skills including working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite. Ideal candidate must be able to follow instructions, pay attention to detail and learn in a fast paced environment. Students majoring in Structural Engineering, Civil Engineering, Environmental Science, Planning or Construction Engineering are desired.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

1. Performs all duties as assigned to receive on the job training and work experience in the field of engineering, project management, construction management, and/or planning.

1. Ability to work on computer for long periods of time.

1. May occasionally be assigned to attend meetings, make copies of sketches and drawings prepared by others, and provide other technical assistance

1. Work effectively with clients, coworkers, and others by sharing ideas in a constructive and positive manner; listening to and objectively considering ideas and suggestions from others; keeping commitments; keeping others informed of work progress and issues to find mutually acceptable and practical solutions; and respecting the diversity of the SSFM workforce in actions, words and deeds.

1. Maintain commitment to standards of safety and comply with all safety laws and SSFM safety policies/rules.
