Job Description

Kimball Midwest, a national distributor of maintenance, repair, and operation products, is searching for an IT Architect on our eCommerce team for our Columbus, OH location.

Responsibilities

  • Architectural Design: Lead the design and implementation of scalable, secure, and high-performance ecommerce systems based on .NET technologies.
  • eCommerce Expertise: Bring deep expertise in e-commerce platforms, including online storefronts, payment gateways, order management systems, and customer relationship management tools.
  • Requirement Analysis: Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather and analyze requirements and translate them into technical specifications and architectural designs.
  • Integration with Third-party Services: Design and implement integrations with third-party e-commerce services, such as payment gateways, shipping providers, and inventory management systems.
  • Performance Optimization: Identify performance bottlenecks and optimize e-commerce solutions for maximum speed, scalability, and reliability.
  • Security: Implement robust security measures to protect customer data, prevent fraud, and ensure compliance with industry regulations.
  • Microservices Architecture: Design and implement microservices based architectures for modular and scalable e-commerce applications.
  • Cloud Infrastructure: Utilize the Azure cloud platform for deploying and scaling e-commerce applications.
  • Documentation and Best Practices: Create and maintain technical documentation, including architecture diagrams, design documents, and best practices guidelines for e-commerce development.
  • Team Collaboration: Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including developers, UI/UX designers, product owners, and solutions engineers, to ensure the successful delivery of e-commerce projects.
  • Mentorship and Leadership: Provide technical leadership, mentorship, and promote a culture of learning and innovation within the team.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
  • Proven experience of 8+ years as a software architect or similar role, with a focus on e-commerce systems and .NET technologies.
  • Power Platform experience is desirable.
  • Solid understanding of software architecture principles, design patterns, and best practices.
  • Experience with Agile-Scrum development methodology.
  • Experience with Azure cloud and microservices architecture.
  • Ability to analyze existing systems to create architecture documentation that outlines the as-is. Then assist in building a transition path to a future state.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
