Job Description
Kimball Midwest, a national distributor of maintenance, repair, and operation products, is searching for an IT Architect on our WMS team for our Columbus, OH location.

Responsibilities

  • Architectural Design: Lead the architectural design and implementation of software solutions leveraging D365 and warehouse management systems, ensuring scalability, efficiency, and alignment with business objects.
  • Dynamics 365 Expertise: Bring comprehensive expertise in D365 architecture, including D365 Finance, D365 Supply Chain Management, and D365 Commerce, and use this knowledge to design robust software solutions.
  • Warehouse Management Systems: Demonstrate proficiency in warehouse management systems (WMS) and related technologies, and architect solutions that optimize warehouse operations, inventory management, and logistics processes.
  • Requirement Analysis: Collaborate with stakeholders to gather and analyze business requirements for warehouse management software solutions and translate them into technical specifications and architectural designs.
  • Integration with Third-party Systems: Design and implement integrations with third party systems, such as ERP systems, transportation management systems, and enterprise resource planning systems, to facilitate seamless data exchange and functionality.
  • UI/UX Design: Work closely with UI/UX designers to create intuitive and user-friendly interfaces for warehouse management software applications, ensuring optimal user experience and productivity.
  • Performance Optimization: Identify performance bottlenecks and optimize software solutions for maximum speed, scalability, and efficiency, particularly in high-volume warehouse environments.
  • Security and Compliance: Implement robust security measures to safeguard sensitive data and ensure compliance with industry regulations.
  • Documentation: Create and maintain technical documentation, including architecture diagrams, design documents, and user manuals, to support the development and maintenance of warehouse management software solutions.
  • Mentorship and Leadership: Provide technical leadership and mentorship to development teams working on D365 and warehouse software projects and promote a culture of learning and innovation within the team.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Engineering, or related field
  • Proven experience 8+ years as a Software Architect or similar role, with focus on Dynamics 365 and warehouse management software solutions.
  • Extensive expertise in Dynamics 365 architecture and modules.
  • Strong understanding of warehouse management systems, logistics processes, and related technologies.
  • Proficiency integrating Dynamics 365 with other enterprise systems.
  • Experience with Agile-Scrum development methodology.
  • Experience with Azure cloud and service-oriented architecture - desirable.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to analyze existing systems to create architecture documentation that outlines the as-is. Then assist in building a transition path to a future state.
  • SQL and Korber WMS experience - desirable
  • Relevant certifications Azure, TOGAF, and Power Platform are desirable.
