The Manufacturing Technical Training and Development lead is a new position. The lead will be responsible for developing and providing a focused new hire training program and manage capability building across all Value streams (Bulk Manufacturing, Form/Fill/Lyophilization and Packaging) within Production with an emphasis of Safety and Quality while identifying and driving performance improvements. This role involves identifying learning needs, designing effective training programs and implementing strategies to enhance the skill and knowledge of employees to enable GSK to deliver on its growth ambition and compete in a challenging, fast-moving healthcare environment.

  • Formulate and execute a comprehensive learning and development strategy for production aligned with the organizational goals.
  • Needs assessment: Conducting needs assessment to identify skill gaps and determine learning priorities within the organization.
  • Develop, implement and maintain a production training zone.
  • Keep up to date and bench mark on new training strategies and technologies to streamline training and make it more effective.
  • Design and deliver Production new hire training program, aligned to the agile production team strategy, to reduce complexity, improve compliance, and to deliver stronger employee value delivery to production teams.
  • Facilitate the transition of new hires/transfer-ins from training environment to work environment in a pre-defined timeframe and scope of OJTs.
  • Lead development and implementation of simplified area specific training matrices/curricula and training plans
  • Responsible for measuring/improving KPIs related to training, production team health, and other inspection readiness metrics.
  • Proactively schedule and coordinate a specific scope of OJT and OJT refresher training across all production shifts/work schedules.
  • Assist in review of human factor related incidents to determine the need for additional or modified training interventions for affected staff.
  • Responsible for implementing and ensuring compliance to GSK employment policies by proactively addressing performance, coaching the team to address lack of compliance by individuals through GSK processes and practices.
  • Drive a performance and coaching organization. Demonstrate recognition and celebration for success.
  • Change Management: assisting in managing organizational change by developing learning solutions that support transitions.

Basic Qualifications:

We are looking for professionals with these required skills to achieve our goals:

  • Associate's Degree
  • 5+ years' experience working in a GMP regulated manufacturing environment
  • Minimum 3 years' Leadership experience with proven capability of developing teams and individuals to achieve high performance

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in coaching and training
  • Excellent communication skills to interact with diverse teams and stakeholders.
  • Ability to collaborate with subject matter experts and align learning initiatives with organizational goals.
  • Familiarity with learning management systems (LMS) and e-learning tools.
  • Tech-savvy with the ability to leverage digital platforms for training and development.
  • Skill in assessing organizational learning needs and designing assessments to measure training effectiveness.
  • Experience in gathering and analyzing data to evaluate the impact of learning programs.
  • Demonstrated ability to adapt to evolving business needs and integrate innovative learning solutions.
  • Proactive in staying updated on industry trends and incorporating best practices.
  • Strong project management skills to oversee the development and implementation of learning initiatives, including change management.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring timely delivery.
  • Leadership qualities to inspire and motivate teams toward continuous learning and development.
  • Effective problem-solving skills to address challenges related to learning and development.
  • Ability to identify gaps and propose creative solutions to enhance organizational learning.
  • Knowledge of FDA, and other regulatory authorities' requirements.
  • Technical knowledge of manufacturing, quality and regulatory activities related to biological products.
  • Proven ability to interpret, as well as challenge, customer needs and translate these into a coherent program of work that will drive business performance.
  • Fluent in written and oral English including technical writing.
  • Good interpersonal, communication (including presentation) and influencing skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills, effective time management, ability to clearly identify priorities and manage multiple tasks.
  • Demonstrated financial acumen through successfully managing a budget.
