Position Summary

The Quality Engineer be responsible for the development and deployment of quality plans to ensure the production of products consistent with design and established quality standards. The QA Engineer will report to the Operations Quality Manager.

Responsibilities

Operations Quality

  • Development and deployment of a quality assurance plan for their assigned areas of responsibility
  • Oversee a system of process and product audit to ensure compliance to standards
  • Lead Root Cause and Corrective Action activities for product/process defects related to assigned area of responsibility
  • Interact with the customer facing Quality organization as needed. Utilizes customer quality data to guide process improvement efforts
  • Support the containment and analysis of Supplier Quality issues aligned with the AFS Supplier Quality Lead
  • Support the containment and analysis of Supplier Quality issues aligned with the AFS Supplier Quality Lead
  • Participate in continuous improvement activity in assigned areas of responsibility
  • Assist in implementation of the Quality Management System within AFS

Experience & Skills

Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree in related field
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in a quality assurance or technical field

Required Skills:

  • Working knowledge of quality management tools such as root cause analysis
  • Ability to read drawings
  • Strong written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills

Preferred Skills:

  • Familiarity with Lean/Continuous Improvement concepts
