JOB SUMMARY

The Senior Manager, Warehousing and Material Handling will lead the supply of materials for clients. This individual will be responsible for logistics and distribution providers and managing the warehouse staff. They will also be a reliable GMP supply of raw materials and consumables for the development and manufacture of client products. This will include both site warehouse locations, as well as our offsite storage location.

Key Responsibilities and Duties

  • Develops and implements policies and procedures governing the receipt, storage, and distribution of materials, equipment, and/or supplies.
  • Supports the organization's supply chain strategy through maintenance of appropriate inventory levels and timely distribution of goods.
  • Tracks inventory by performing physical counts and verifying information against warehousing systems.
  • Ensures warehouse operations comply with regulations governing materials handling, storage, and distribution where applicable.
  • Management of Warehouse operations covering receiving, component preparation for manufacturing and final product shipping.
  • Develop and implement cGMP compliant processes and procedures to support manufacturing operations
  • Recruit and manage a team to deliver against site capacity plans.
  • Develop staffing models to ensure department is appropriately resourced and trained to meet capacity requirements.
  • Develop, implement and maintain appropriate staff training curricula meeting cGMP requirements.
  • Liaises with Manufacturing and Process Development in the technical transfer of new products.
  • Establish, measure and track operational performance through KPI's and drive continuous improvement to reduce cost and improve quality.
  • Collaborate with Quality, Planning, Manufacturing and Logistics teams to ensure site and company goals are met.
  • Deliver relevant departmental input and assessments for change controls, investigations, and deviations. Lead implementation of assigned corrective and preventative actions.
  • Assist the VP of Supply Chain for operational and capital budget development and ensure team adheres to the approved budget.
  • Assists in the development of operational functional requirements and business process flow architecture of ERP and Planning functions and features, in support of existing and future business plans.
  • Other duties as assigned

Additional Responsibilities and Duties

  • Bachelor's Degree degree in Supply Chain, Business, or Engineering
  • 7+ Years Operations or supply chain experience
  • 4+ YearsProven warehouse and materials management experience in life sciences, pharmaceutical or relevant area.
  • Working knowledge and understanding of GMP, GDP, and FDA guidelines.
  • In depth knowledge of supply chain operations in a cGMP setting, international distribution experience as plus.
  • Experience with Change Control Management, Deviations and CAPA Systems.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proven successful collaboration in a cross functional environment.
  • Advanced analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
  • Logical thinking with strong analytical skills for risk identification and management.
  • Thrives in a startup, fast-paced environment with 'can do' attitude under minimal direction and able to adjust workload based upon changing priorities.
  • In-depth understanding of the field's concepts and principles.
  • Performs complex tasks and has some latitude for determining appropriate processes to follow.
  • Leads and directs the work of other employees and has full authority for personnel decisions.
  • Administers departmental policies and procedures, evaluates results and performance, and assists with the development of new or modified budgets, strategic plans, or policies.
  • Contributes to strategic planning, direction, and goal setting for the department or function in collaboration with senior management.
  • Establishes departmental policies, practices, and procedures that have a significant impact on the organization.
  • Proficient in Warehousing software, MS word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.

Specific Licenses and Certifications

  • Lean Six Sigma Black Belt Preferred
  • Certified in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM)-APICS Preferred
