APP Surgical First Assist Per Diem

POSITION SUMMARY:

In a collaborative and multidisciplinary environment, contributes professional and clinical expertise to assigned patient populations to ensure the delivery of high quality care. Scope of practice will encompass: * Expert clinical practice * Expert guidance and coaching of patients and families and other healthcare providers * Research * Leadership (clinical, professional, and systems). May need to serve on call and/or weekend rotation as required.

EDUCATION:

Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program or Nurse Practitioner Program Current Certification from the National Commission on the Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) or for Advanced Practice Nurses a current Certification from the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) or from the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners (AANP) and Registered Nurse First Assist (RFNA) certification. Hold a valid, current New Jersey license. Obtain a New Jersey CDS and federal DEA certificate upon employment if not already covered. BCLS certification Minimum of 2 years of clinical practice experience in the Operating Room functioning as the First Assist

EXPERIENCE:
Minimum of 2 years of clinical practice experience Participation in pertinent professional and/or specialty organizations preferred. First assist experience required.

SPECIAL SKILLS:
Evidence of excellent interpersonal skills, effective communication skills, and creative problem solving.
