Job Description

There is a $5,000 relocation or sign on bonus for this role! RAYUS Radiology, formerly Center for Diagnostic Imaging, is looking for a Lead MR Technologist to join our team. As a Lead Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologist, you will provide leadership and management to technologists in assigned modality. Taking a patient centered approach, you will provide MRI services within professional standards and with excellent customer service. Each patient comes to our centers looking for answers. You will guide patients through this sometimes difficult process by kindly talking them through the steps and answering their questions and concerns regarding exam procedures and process. You will also support and enhance the overall team by acting as a resource for new and long-term associates. This is a fulltime position working day shifts Monday-Friday, includes weekend rotation (no call).

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

(80-85%) Patient MRI Imaging

  • Screens patient before exam for any precautions or contradictions pertaining to examination, using two patient identifiers to ensure correct patient and procedure.
  • Explains and prepares patients for MRI procedures that will be performed, explaining the procedure, position patients so that the parts of the body can be appropriately scanned.
  • Performs routine and advanced MRI procedures on designated portions of the body for use by physicians in the diagnosing and treating of patient illness and/or injury with minimal amount of supervision or repeats scanned, while providing patient support by talking to patients throughout the procedure.
  • Adjusts MRI scan parameters correctly and as needed.
  • Maintains positive attitude and working relationships with radiologist, referring customers and other associates and peers.
  • Follows physicians' orders precisely and conforms to safety regulations to protect yourself, your patients, and coworkers.
  • Accurately maintains patient records within Radiology Information System (RIS).
  • Maintains an orderly and clean work area promoting good safety habits for patients and co-workers.
  • Maintains ACR toolkit and accreditation requirements.
  • Maintains equipment in good working order; cleans and disinfects equipment after each use.
  • Ensures compliance with all HIPAA guidelines.

(10-15%) Team Supervision

  • Assists in the hiring process for new associates.
  • Coordinates the training and onboarding of new associates.
  • Leads regular team meeting and associates one-on-ones.
  • Monitors and approves timecards.
  • Initiates and participates in performance review, development, and performance management of associates.
  • Develops associate schedules to provide for planned time off, ensuring appropriate staffing levels and adequate coverage.
  • Evaluates workflow and implements process improvements for the team.
  • Ensures team has knowledge of company and department policies and corresponding procedures are in place.
  • Supports associates ensuring highest level of patient satisfaction.
  • Leads special projects and/or committees as assigned.
  • Manages other departments in the absence of manager or peers and coordinates schedule to ensure appropriate coverage.

(5%) Completes other tasks as assigned.


Required:

  • ARRT registered technologist, current and in good standing, dependent on State regulations and business needs.
  • 4+ years imaging experience, with demonstrated ability to serve as a resource to others and identify and implement process improvement opportunities.
  • Graduate of the American Medical Association (AMA) approved school of radiography Licensed Radiological Technologist in the appropriate state, if applicable.
  • Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification.
  • Must have training and experience sufficient to competently perform advanced MRI procedures independently with highest quality.

Preferred:

  • Works in multiple modalities and/or has multi-modality certifications.
  • Prior supervisory or leadership experience
  • Certification in imaging specialty
  • Bilingual
