Job Description

Are you a seasoned maintenance professional with a knack for troubleshooting and a passion for keeping facilities in top-notch condition? St. James Hotel is seeking a Maintenance Technician to join our team. As a Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for overseeing the troubleshooting, repairs, and preventive maintenance of mechanical, electrical, HVAC, plumbing systems, and structural elements of our property. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Implement and oversee preventive maintenance programs for all equipment on the property.
  • Direct and perform maintenance projects to ensure schedules and quality objectives are met.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical problems, perform repairs, and document solutions.
  • Conduct maintenance activities on both interior and exterior areas of the property including painting, drywall, plumbing repairs, and structural maintenance.
  • Provide friendly and efficient responses to guest requests.
  • Collaborate with other departments and managers to recommend maintenance service solutions.
  • Maintain inventory of tools, equipment, and materials and submit purchase requisitions as needed.
  • Plan, organize, and prioritize work duties to meet established schedules.
  • Perform administrative tasks such as ordering materials and writing purchase orders.
Qualifications
  • Associate degree or equivalent from a technical school, plus seven years of related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 5+ years of maintenance experience in carpentry, HVAC, electrical, mechanical, and plumbing functions.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:

  • Valid Driver's License with excellent driver's history.
  • Boilers License or ability to obtain.
  • Maintain current license, inspection, permit, and certificate requirements.

Qualified candidates must have Strong initiative and ability to work independently; Proficiency in preventive maintenance, equipment repairs, and routine inspections; Understanding of safety regulations and ability to maintain a clean and safe work environment; Ability to diagnose problems and make appropriate decisions; Knowledge of electrical systems, fire protection systems, and emergency procedures; Flexibility to work varying shifts including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
