Join our team as a Senior Data Analyst!

This is a remote role based out of one of the following states: MN, NC, NH, MA, TX, or IL.

The Senior Data Engineer is responsible for designing, building, implementing and maintaining data processing pipelines for the extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) of data from a variety of data sources.

You will:

  • Design, build, implement, and maintain data processing pipelines for the extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) of data from a variety of data sources.
  • Develop robust and scalable solutions that transform data into a useful format for analysis, enhance data flow, and enable end users to consume and analyze data faster and easier.
  • Guide team development efforts towards successful project delivery through Agile methodologies.
  • Write complex SQL queries to support analytics needs.
  • Provide informal data engineering expertise and leadership to the team.
  • Evaluate and recommend tools and technologies for data infrastructure and processing.
  • Work with tools, languages, data processing frameworks, and databases such as R, Python, SQL, MongoDB, Redis, Hadoop, Spark, Hive, Scala, BigTable, Cassandra, Presto, and Strom.
  • Work with structured and unstructured data from a variety of data stores, such as data lakes, relational database management systems, and/or data warehouses.
  • Conduct complex, important work under minimal supervision and with a wide latitude for independent judgement.
  • Collaborate with technology & business teams to translate business requirements to technical specifications and coded data pipelines.
  • Partner with user community transforming raw data into information.
  • Maintain and improve existing data platform.
  • Ensure compliance with organization data and software policies and procedures.
  • Keep related groups and management informed of progress and support requirements.
  • Assist higher-level programmers in the development of programs of a more complex nature.
  • Provide feedback on team member's performance.
  • Stay current on best practices in technology.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

    What it takes:

    • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Mathematics, or related field
    • 6+ years of experience working in data engineering
    • Independent and self-sufficient
    • Ability to work effectively in a fast paced, collaborative environment
    • Relational databases such as Microsoft SQL Server
    • Data platforms such as Domo, Power-BI, Tableau, or Looker
    • Experience with tools, languages, data processing frameworks, and databases such as Snowflake, DBT DOMO, Looker, and SQL.
    • Ability to work on multiple projects concurrently
    • Ability to manage time effectively
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills

    Physical Demands:

    While performing the essential duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use a computer keyboard, monitor and mouse, telephone and printer; reach with hands, and arms, talk, see and hear.     Work Environment:

    Indoors (A/C); nonsmoking; the majority of this job function is performed in an office setting requiring normal safety precautions. Occasionally works in outside weather conditions. Occasionally works near moving mechanical parts and in high, precarious places and is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, risk of electrical shock and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet to moderate.
