About the Job

Position Summary - Retirement Savings Benefits

Responsible for performing complex retirement tasks and resolving complex retirement plan issues on individual employee cases escalated in the shared service center. Audits administrative processes, procedures and controls to ensure effective administration and service delivery. Ensures compliance with retirement plan documents, company policies, company controls, and with state and federal regulations related to retirement administration.

Subject Matter Expert (SME) on projects in partnership with the Retirement Center of Expertise (COE) and other internal and external professionals. Provides consultative service to retirement plan participants, Center of Expertise, HRMS and shared service team members.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Provide nuanced interactive consultation regarding benefit plans with participants, connecting with third party vendors and internal partners as needed to resolve the issue. Brings items to the Center of Expertise if vendor or operational items require escalation.
  • References rules within plan documents, as well as their understanding of state and federal regulations, to provide consistent responses to employee questions. Escalate issues to the management team and Center of Expertise as needed to assure prompt and accurate resolution to employee level questions. May identify the root cause of issues and lead issue resolution efforts.
  • Ensure procedures and provisions are documented, effective and followed. Recommend changes to reduce incidence of error.
  • Oversight of generating and reviewing reports to ensure plans are being administered following all regulations and plan provisions. Recommends and creates new reports to review when a gap is identified or an efficiency is determined.
  • Perform complex tasks related to benefit administration such as contribution corrections and unusual participant requests.
  • Administer the Supplemental Retirement Plan, including providing annual data to the actuary.
  • Administer the phased retirement program, including reviewing requests for approval, tracking status, requesting wires and distributions for terminated participants.
  • Complete quarterly trial balance summary for all retirement plans for the Office of Investment and Banking.
  • Partner with Center of Expertise to create employee benefits education materials
  • Draft knowledge articles with support of Center of Expertise
  • Provide reports and dashboards to Center of Expertise and shared service leaders for tracking to determine improvement opportunities. Highlight trends and recommend opportunities based on the data.
  • Main point of contact for internal audits for benefit administration portion of the audits, in consultation with the Center of Expertise
  • Participate on special projects as a Subject Matter Expert (SME).
  • Stay up-to-date on trends and developments related to retirement plans.
  • Oversight for approving payment of plan expenses and use of forfeitures.
Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 4+ years benefit plan experience, which may include any of the following: plan sponsor, consulting, or administration experience related to retirement plans OR a combination of education and/or experience to equal at lease eight years.
  • Advanced level of proficiency with administrative practices and pertinent federal and state regulations affecting retirement programs.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication and collaborative team skills.
  • Strong consultative, facilitation, and project management skills.
  • Proven organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong knowledge of Google Suite tools
