About the Job

The ENACT Research Group is seeking a research professional to develop and assist with studies conducted at Austin, MN and Chicago, IL sites. The lab investigates the role of nutrition in cancer prevention and survivorship, as well as the development of technology-assisted dietary interventions. The overarching goal of this research program is to advance nutrition care across the cancer care continuum. The candidate must reside in the Chicago area.

Focus of Job Responsibilities

Study Management (20%)
Recruit and enroll participants in clinical trials with regard to the established protocol, Good Clinical Practice, and University of Minnesota Policies.
Track participant enrollment for multiple studies.
Assist with review of scientific literature.
Execute and troubleshoot experiments or products for the principal investigator and other laboratory members.
Create Standard Operating Procedures for experiments for the group.

Data Collection and Management (40%)
Conduct dietary recalls based on participant availability.
Assist with data entry and maintain study databases to ensure completeness.
Perform quality assurance of data to ensure data accuracy.
Perform or assist with statistical analysis for the group.

Lab Management (35%)
Work closely with contractors to ensure timely delivery of products.
Prepare work specifications, obtain cost estimates, and provide alternative options.
Train and supervise research associates in troubleshooting software and data analysis for required projects.
Assist with grant preparation (e.g., write and review sections of grant proposals).
Negotiate, review, and edit equipment purchase, rental, and lease agreements.
Negotiate, review, and edit non-disclosure agreements.

Work Profile

Qualifications

Required Qualifications
BA/BS degree or a combination of related education and work experiences to equal four years.

Preferred Qualifications
Has in-depth experience with contract language.
Has in-depth experience with statistical analysis.
Has work experience with leading and managing teams.
Has in-depth experience in editing and amending legal documentation.
Ability to speak English and follow written and oral instructions.
Has access to a computer and high-speed Internet.
Has access to a private area to conduct recalls.
