Job Summary:

Star Tribune is seeking an Applications Programmer Analyst to join our progressive Information Technology team. You'll become part of a closely-knit group of unique and talented IT professionals and get to work with cutting-edge enterprise technology solutions. The Applications Programmer Analyst is an exciting opportunity to contribute to award winning local journalism and investigative reporting endeavors.

Key responsibilities:

  • Work closely with all departments in support of enterprise applications and reporting tools to provide information and functionality for on-going business operations that improve collaboration, productivity, and knowledge sharing.
  • Work with the team to design, develop and implement solutions using various tools including Microsoft Power Platform products , MS SQL, Dot Net, and SharePoint.
  • Development of detailed program specifications using programming standards, logical data modeling and process analysis techniques.
  • Ensures application development and/or packaging integration are consistent with architectural vision and IT strategies of the organization.
  • Translate requirements and business logic into physical design specifications for development.
  • Revise and update programs and documentation as required and provide necessary documentation for the end-user.
  • Participate in the full systems development life cycle on projects.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of programming and system analysis experience.
  • Familiarity with Relational Database technology, data/information modeling and Entity Relationship Diagramming.
  • Understanding and adherence to application development methods and standards (includes knowledge of related tools and techniques).
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Ability to learn processes, tools, and technology quickly and completely.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively work in a team environment, manage multiple tasks, priorities, and responsibilities.
  • Ability to mentor and collaborate with other members of the team.
  • Proven ability to troubleshoot and solve technical and development problems.
  • Excellent oral/written communication and presentation skills.
  • Experience in SharePoint Administration, Dot Net, TFS, MS SQL, Microsoft Power Platform tools and Microsoft Dynamics 365.
