Job Description:

We are seeking a Technician III - Engineering for Microchip's MCU32 division to support post silicon validation and characterization of 32-bit microcontrollers and other products (WSG, MPU32, CIPG) during the first night shift (3:00PM - 12:00AM, included 1 hour break).

The Technician will be part of the Silicon evaluation Lab activities, working closely with Validation engineers while managing day to day activities of the Lab. This role will report to the local validation manager and is based in Chandler, Arizona.

Requirements/Qualifications:

Job Requirements

  • Maintain data collection activities for multiple product groups.
  • Perform assembly and rework of surface mounted components on Printed Circuit Boards (PCBs).
  • Inventory management and tracking of lab components, equipment, parts, including thermal forcing units.
  • Assist with scheduling and logistics of equipment calibration.
  • Assist team members by equipping lab workbenches with appropriate instruments and tools.
  • Willing to work other shifts while in training.

Qualifications

  • 3-4 years of related work experience.
  • Two-year Technical Certificate or equivalent experience in similar or related industry.
  • Associates Degree preferred.

Additional Qualifications

  • Proficient in using Lab equipment such as Oscilloscopes, Function Generators, Logic Analyzers, Power Supplies, Digital Multi-Meters, and Thermal Forcing Units.
  • Basic knowledge of electrical circuits.
  • Ability to read schematics and PCB layout drawings.
  • Experience with troubleshooting analog and digital electronic circuits.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office apps: Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Team player with good communication skills, both oral and written.
