PRIMARY OBJECTIVE OF POSITION:

The Maintenance Technician will work on our 1st shift, directly with the Contractors, Inspectors, or other maintenance personnel to insure that all PMs, work orders, and required inspections are completed safely and meeting required codes.

MAJOR AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY:

  • Monitor and maintain all building systems (HVAC, Plumbing, Boilers, Fire Protection, etc.).
  • Complete all maintenance PMs, work orders, and inspection requests.
  • Work collaboratively with project teams, contractors, inspectors, or vendors when facilitating repairs, installations, or inspections of identified equipment, projects, or tasks.
  • Keep assigned work areas and shop organized, clean, and properly stocked (5S).
  • Follow safety standards set forth by the company Safety and LOTO programs.
  • Help identify and correct safety hazards and unsafe workplace behaviors.
  • Maintain accurate equipment repairs/modification documentation, and update equipment files.
  • Assist in the integration, start-up and debugging of equipment.
  • Help develop skills of technicians performing repairs and preventive maintenance.
  • Notifies department team leader and management when problems arise concerning equipment, operations, materials etc.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

  • 3+ years' experience as a Maintenance Technician in manufacturing or equivalent setting.
  • AA degree or certification in mechanical, HVAC, Electrical or Industrial maintenance required or to be actively enrolled.
  • Knowledge and on-the-job experience in the areas of Plumbing, Electrical, HVAC, Fire Protection Systems, Refrigeration required.
  • Requires a Special Boiler's License and EPA Universal Refrigerant Certification
  • Must have valid state driver's license.
  • General knowledge of Microsoft Suite, Maintenance Connection system.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

  • General knowledge of Fire Protection systems
  • Effective interpersonal skills, as well as oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to understand and follow written and verbal work instructions.
  • Safety conscious.
  • Ability to lift and carry 50 lbs.
  • Ability to work in heights.
  • Ability to obtain forklift license.
  • Ability to obtain company driver's license.
