The Career - What it is:

Apothecary Products (APL) is currently seeking a Press Operator to join our Burnsville based team. Manufacturing and packaging pharmacy supply and consumer goods wellness products, in this role you will be operate flexographic presses with responsibilities including flexographic machine setup, operation, and output to produce labels for some of the largest retailers in the world.

In this role the incumbent will:

    Operate flexographic presses to meet safety, quality and expected output
  • Examine job orders to determine quantities printed, production times, and colors to meet customer and production schedules
  • Accountable for machine setup, start up and shut down procedures
  • Mount/install/adjust printing plates, rollers, feed guides, inks, and dies
  • Monitor feedng and printing of press; detect and react to malfunctions or quality errors
  • Complete accurate records of production output, scrap, material usage, etc.
  • Complete activities to prepare product for final shipment
  • Keep yourself safe and your work area clean
  • Complete operator level preventative maintenance
  • Provide guidance, mentorship, and training to other operators, as needed
  • May perform other production duties to support team environment

Qualifications + Experience:

We seek applicants with these critical skills and experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • At least 3 years previous printing experience; preferred experience with flexographic printerd, in-line and/or 3-web

  • Working knowledge of UV inks and lamps
  • Working knowledge of hot melt adhesives and water-based glues
  • Strong mechanical abilities
  • Ability to mentor/train others successfully on equipment
  • Flexibility and willingness to crosstrain
  • Demonstrated English language proficiency to meet requirements of the role for writing, reading, speaking, and listening
  • Willingness to work overtime periodically and be able to work well under the pressure of deadlines
  • Ability to work with a diverse team
