Position Summary:

As the Director of the Procurement Excellence, you will oversee the strategy, performance, and continuous improvement of the procurement function in Apogee. You will be responsible for ensuring that the procurement practices are aligned with the business goals, industry standards, and best practices. In this role you will partner with the procurements teams across all areas of procurement to define and implement best practices and drive continuous improvement initiatives. This Director role will report directly to the Chief Procurement Officer.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Developing and implementing procurement strategies, policies, and procedures across the organization

  • Establishing and monitoring key performance indicators, metrics, and targets for the procurement function

  • Leading and facilitating continuous improvement initiatives and projects to optimize procurement processes, systems, and tools.

  • Driving the adoption and usage of procurement best practices and enablers such as eSourcing, spend analytics, contract management, supplier relationship management, etc.

  • Managing the procurement center of excellence and ensuring the delivery of high-quality services and support to the procurement teams

  • Collaborating and communicating with internal and external stakeholders to ensure alignment and integration of procurement objectives and activities.

  • Staying abreast of the latest trends, developments, and innovations in the procurement field and identifying opportunities for improvement and innovation

  • Lead our Supplier Relationship Management\Supplier Performance strategies, roadmaps, and implementations

  • Responsible for leading steering committees, interfacing with Senior Management Stakeholders gaining buy-in and driving change management activities to accomplish procurement standard practices.

  • Project Manages Several Procurement Source to Pay standardization initiatives.

  • Leads the process of recommending new initiatives and holding on-going workshops to build and expand project pipelines.

  • Partner with Category / Business-Unit teams in conveying Procurement-specific training and change management to the broader organization. As the central process owner, these category teams will rely on the COE for direction and support in rolling out key changes.

  • Direct material productivity YOY

  • Supplier Performance Improvement (OTTR & PPM)

  • Supply Base Reduction (% of spend with PSL suppliers)

  • Payables/working capital performance (AWPT, Consignment)

  • Electronic Bidding and eAuction performance

  • Strategy Deployment & Execution

Education and Skills Required:

  • Bachelor Degree in Supply Chain orbusiness related field (Master Degree Preferred)

  • 10+ Years of Managerial Experience

  • 5+ Years of Sourcing Leadership Experience

  • CPM and/or APICS certification a plus

Additional Qualifications:

  • Experience leading industry best practice procurement teams

  • Experience implementing significant improvements or establishing procurement industry best practices across functional areas

  • Strong background in procurement technologies, including Source to Pay and third-party performance and risk management

  • Leadership and governance of procurement processes and project teams

  • Strong background in Coupa in support of the Source to Pay process

  • Proven successful track record in leadership roles

  • Strong communication and leadership skills dealing with a global cross-functional team

  • People management & development

  • Strong Change Management Skills
