Wages & Benefits

$21.00 - $24.00 per hour; generous paid time off; 11 paid holidays per year; flexible scheduling; medical, dental, vision, life insurance, AD&D, short-term and long-term disability, and retirement plan; immediate eligibility for matching in the retirement savings plan, immediate vesting of employer contribution.

Schedule

This is a hybrid position and may require working some evenings or weekends. It also requires travel within the community and high engagement.

A Typical Day in the Life...

A typical day as Sabathani's Housing Stability Coordinator provides an opportunity to support students and families at risk of homelessness within the school system. This role involves assessing needs, coordinating services, and implementing strategies to prevent homelessness, ensuring that students can remain focused on their education. Responsibilities will include the following:

Assessment and Intake

  • Conducting comprehensive assessments to identify families and students facing housing instability or homelessness.
  • Providing a welcoming and non-judgmental intake process for families seeking assistance.

Case Management

  • Developing and implementing individualized case management plans for students and their families.
  • Connecting participants with necessary resources including housing assistance, financial support, and social services.
  • Monitoring participant progress, setting goals, and adjusting plans as needed.

Education and Advocacy

  • Working closely with school personnel to raise awareness about housing instability and homelessness.
  • Advocating on behalf of students and families to ensure their educational needs are met.

Resource Coordination

  • Collaborating with local agencies, non-profits, and community resources to access housing-related services, financial aid, employment services, legal services, mental health support, and other vital resources.
  • Maintaining an up-to-date database of available resources and referral contacts.

Crisis Intervention

  • Providing immediate assistance in crisis situations related to housing instability.
  • Developing and implementing crisis intervention plans to prevent homelessness.

Who You Are

  • You preferably have previous experience in case management, social work, or related roles, particularly with a focus on homeless prevention or social services.
  • You are trained (or willing to be trained) in mediation.
  • You have prior knowledge of local community resources, housing assistance programs, and social services.
  • You have strong communication, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.
  • You possess the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse groups including students, families, and school staff.
  • It is preferable that you are proficient in case management software and basic computer applications.
  • You have a valid driver's license, access to reliable transportation, and the ability to meet Sabathani's driving record requirements. Please note that if the license was not issued in the state of Minnesota, you have 60 days after becoming a Minnesota resident in which to apply for your Minnesota driver's license or permit (not applicable for new hires living out of state).
