  • Assignment:
    6.25 hours per day, 185 days per year
    Class A Lunchroom/Playground Para: 2 hours ($18.24 minimum hourly rate)
    Class C Project Play Para: 2.25 hours ($20.34 minimum hourly rate)
    Class C Classroom Para: 2 hours ($20.34 minimum hourly rate)

    Lunchroom/Playground Job Responsibilities:
    1. Provide supervision of students and enforce school rules in the lunchroom, playground, or other designated locations in cooperation with other staff.
    2. Guide students in the implementation of rules, routines and expectations for the playground and lunchroom.
    3. Complete routine paperwork and perform record-keeping activities related to monitoring activities.
    4. Assist with cleaning the lunchroom tables as needed.
    5. Report any areas of concern regarding student behavior and equipment needs to the building principal.
    6. Performs other duties of a similar nature or level.

    Project Play Para Job Responsibilities:
    1. Provide Social/Emotional Interventions through expressive play sessions with children, focusing on the development of skills necessary for school success.
    2. Consult/collaborate with social worker, teachers, and school Student Support Team (SST) and Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS) teams to identify and target specific goals for each student.
    3. Assist students with setting goals to increase their feelings of school success.
    4. Communicate and correspond with teachers, parents, principal, social worker and SST/MTSS team regarding student progress.
    5. Design and construct friendly space to include creative problem-solving materials.
    6. Performs other duties of a similar nature or level.

    Classroom Para Job Responsibilities:
    Provides classroom support by working with small groups and individual students under the supervision of the teachers. Supervises students in the classroom.

    2. Demonstrated evidence of ability to take direction.

    4. Clear communication in speaking and writing.

    6. Demonstrated ability to follow through on a project.
    7. Demonstrated strong organizational skills, punctuality, and efficiency.
    8. Evidence of strong math and reading skills.
    9. Demonstrated computer skills are desirable
    10. Demonstrated flexibility and creativity.
    11. Evidence of the ability to be reliable, adaptable, and empathetic.
    12. Evidence of the ability to customize appropriate play methods based on individual need.
    13. Demonstrated ability to work independently, take initiative and have an excellent record of responsibility.
    14. Evidence of ability to maintain, respect, and protect confidentiality.
    15. Evidence of the ability and inclination to take charge of student behavior as circumstances suggest.
    16. Evidence of the ability to work in a team environment.
    17. Evidence of excellent human relations and oral communication skills, and interpersonal skills as applied to interaction with coworkers, supervisor, the general public, etc. sufficient to exchange or convey information and to receive work direction.
