Certified Welding Inspector Position shall report to the Quality Control Manager, Superintendent, or someone higher in the Contractor's Organization.  This position shall inspect in-process and finished work for conformance to shop drawings, contract drawings, specifications, and codes by performing the following duties.  This position must work with onsite contractor personnel, management, and Government personnel.  This position requires the worker to be on the site at all times and will require travel if they are not located in the vicinity of the project.  Work will require assistance in daily operations during days of non-inspection.  Work will also require work from heights and pre-employment physical.  Contractor is willing to train and further the applicant's experience, in return, we are looking for people eager for advancement and new skills.  

Experience Requirements:
A Graduate Civil Engineer (with Structural Track or Focus), or
A Construction Management Degree with 2 years of experience in construction on structural projects, or
A GED and 5 years of experience supervising structural features in the field with a construction company
Certified Welding Inspector NDT Level II with American Welding Society (AWS) D1.5M/D1.5 experience

Ability to interface effectively with project supervision, safety personnel, management, Government Personnel, and welding/painting personnel

Ability to read and interpret contract and shop fabrication drawings

Ability to read and understand specifications
Inspect, provide, and maintain Quality Control inspection records
Read and understand codes and requirements for Welding, Bolting, and Cleaning & Painting
Verify dimensions and requirements match shop drawings and field work
Interpret engineering drawings, diagrams, and confer with site management or engineering staff to determine quality standards.
Understand requirements for testing of welds, bolts, abrasive blast profile, coatings, etc.

Experience Preferences:   
Past US Army Corps of Engineers Projects
Past experience on installing or repairing steel structures (bridges, dams, tanks, etc.)
Past experience in steel coatings & abrasive blasting (hazardous waste removal & disposal)
A current USACE Construction Quality Management for Contractors Certificate 
NACE Level 2 Coatings Inspector
Experience with US Army Corps of Engineers RMS 3 software
