CLA's Internal Finance team is looking to hire a Procurement Director, based out of our office in Minneapolis, MN. This position is responsible for researching key suppliers, negotiating purchase agreements, and ensuring all products and materials meet firm standards. In this role, you will coordinate with CLA stakeholders and maintain strong supplier relationships.


Primary Responsibilities:

  • Purchase Orders/Agreements: Oversee the preparation and issue of purchase orders and agreements. Responsible for the recordkeeping of all acquisitions to ensure that purchases remain within budget and on schedule. Participate in the development and fulfillment of contract requirements in the purchase or sale/delivery of equipment, materials, products or services.
  • Vendor Management: Analyze supplier proposals to determine a fair and reasonable price position. Monitor supplier performance and resolve issues and concerns. May serve as liaison to vendors and suppliers. Develop and investigate supply sources, and issue request for quotations, proposals, or bids for those items not covered by any existing purchasing arrangement.
  • Procurement Analytics: Conduct cost/price analyses using statistical tools, market trend data and parametric models. Analyze industry and demand trends and support senior management with the development and implementation of sourcing strategies. Develops and implement cost analysis templates and tools. Provide accurate financial forecasts to support procurement strategies and decision-making. Generate and distribute comprehensive procurement reports to leadership and key stakeholders.
  • Business Partnership: Establish and maintain strong, collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders to consistently improve the procurement experience. Maintain open communication with stakeholders regarding the status of projects. Assist in the development and implementation of goals, policies, priorities, and procedures relating to procurement. Assist firm leadership various projects/tasks, as needed.

Job Requirements:

  • Experience: 8 years of relevant procurement experience. Experience with Workday is HIGHLY preferred!
  • Education: Bachelor's degree required (preferably in Accounting, Finance, or related field). A combination of education, training and relevant experience may be accepted in lieu of degree.
  • Certifications/Licenses (preferred): SPSM Certification from the Next Level Purchasing Association, APICS Supply Chain certifications, Certified Purchasing Professional (CPP), Certified Professional Purchasing Manager (CPPM), Certified Green Purchasing Professional (CGPP), Certified Professional in Distribution and Warehousing (CPDW), and/or
    Certified Professional Purchasing Consultant (CPPC).
  • Technical Competencies: Ability to communicate financial performance and key insights effectively to non-financial audiences. Proficiency with Microsoft Office products (Outlook, Excel, Word, etc.)
  • Travel: <10% required. This position would preferably be based within comfortable commuting distance to our downtown Minneapolis office location, but potential exceptions can be made.
