Scope of Position

EDF Renewables North America is a market-leading independent power producer and service provider with over 35 years of experience. We deliver grid-scale power: wind (onshore and offshore), solar photovoltaic, and storage projects; distribution-scale power: solar and storage; asset optimization: technical, operational, and commercial expertise to maximize the performance of generating projects, and onsite solutions, through the Company's PowerFlex affiliate, offering a full suite of onsite energy solutions for commercial and industrial customers: solar, storage, EV charging, energy management systems, and microgrids.

The intention is for this role to be Hybrid and based out of our Houston, TX office.

The Associate Director - Development ("AD") is focused on growth and development of direct reports and building a successful business at a regional market level. The AD will coordinate with the regional Director(s), VP and OPM team to set specific short, medium, and long-term goals for the submarket and will manage internal and external resources to achieve those goals. The AD will be responsible for the direct supervision of Project Developers and/or Project Development Managers and will be responsible for assessing their skills and development needs and providing opportunities for growth and development to those individuals.

The Senior Manager - will support regional leadership in the establishment of regional development strategy and new business development initiatives.

Responsibilities

40%: Greenfield strategy, new market and/or technology identification, and M&A coordination:

* Lead the identification and/or evaluation of business growth opportunities for the region, either through new asset classes for the region or identification of geographic expansion opportunities, including but not limited to new greenfield markets, actionable targets to meet key clients' needs, and/or new technology identification (collocating storage, standalone storage, etc.).

* Coordinate regional M&A activities between the Strategic Development Initiatives' ("SDI") M&A team and the regional development team for acquisition and/or divestiture opportunities.

25%: Strategic Planning, Forecasting, and Budgeting:

* Lead the development and execution of near-term and long-term development strategies, business plans, and tracking mechanisms.

* Lead the development strategy for the South Region.

* Oversee regional budget preparation and forecasting; establish and direct process for ongoing review and tracking of spend against budget. Provide insights and data to development team for ongoing feedback and improvement.

* Primary regional liaison with subject matter experts and technical groups; responsible to ensure regional competitive market knowledge is fully incorporated into their analyses.

* Oversee all competitive analysis methodology and process.

20%: Operations Systems and Processes:

* Lead regional conduit for GSP-wide operational initiatives, including but not limited to Letter of Credit forecasting, deployment plans, pipeline strategy, etc.

* Oversee the management of regional data management tools (document management, market intelligence, project data sheets, project tracking, etc.).

* Identify tasks and development areas where systems or systems improvement will streamline necessary business activities, performing process mapping and optimization.

10%: Project Development Leadership

* Support regional priorities as needed by mentoring people managers and/or project developers on their project initiatives, regardless of reporting relationships.

5%: Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

The Associate Director typically requires a minimum of 8 years of experience handling project origination, development and/or management in a utility or for an IPP.

Education/Experience

Bachelor's or Master's in Business, Energy, Economics, or similar degree.

The Senior Manager typically requires a minimum of 5 years of experience handling project origination, development and/or management in a utility or for an IPP.

Education/Experience

    Bachelor's or Master's in Business, Energy, Economics, or similar degree

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities - Associate Director/Senior Manager

  • Prior experience in renewable energy, investment banking, or management consulting
  • Advanced Microsoft Office Suite skills and comfort using web-based industry intelligence solutions
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Demonstrated excellence in people management skills and ability to remain objective in management decision-making.

Qualifications - Associate Director/Senior Manager

  • Demonstrated interest in renewable energy
  • Excellent oral, written and analytic skills
  • Ability to create clear and actionable business plans from disparate data sets or other inputs
  • Driven self-starter and high degree of honesty and integrity
  • Ability to operate at an extremely detailed level in a high intensity environment
  • Strong team player, strong ethics and commitment to sustainable deals/business relationships.

Physical Requirements - NA

Working Conditions - Approximately 50% of the time is spent in the office environment, utilizing computers (frequent use of MS Word, MS Excel, and MS Project, MS Teams, etc.), telephones and general office equipment. Approximately Up to 50% of the time is spent in the field meeting with project stakeholders, leading permitting activities, leading pre-capitalized project implementation, capitalized project implementation/ development as well as managing the assessment and pursuit of new business opportunities.

No Fiscal responsibilities

This role's annual base salary range is between $130,000 and $185,000
