Job Description

The Rare Disease Sales Specialist is accountable for developing account strategies, building customer relationships, providing an exceptional customer experience and growing sales for USL Specialty brands in assigned territory.

*** Candidates must reside in the Central Illinois area.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Represents USL in a manner consistent with our corporate values
  • Demonstrate a high level of commitment to delivering an exceptional customer experience by providing exceptional support and education on USL products and services for all personnel in key accounts
  • Respond to customer requests with a sense of urgency
  • Cultivate a patient centric mindset and provide high level of customer service
  • Develop and implement business plans to grow territory sales for USL Specialty brands
  • Achieve all assigned sales goals and objectives for assigned territory
  • Develop in-depth knowledge of key accounts and utilize that insight to grow relationships with key personnel
  • Develop and implement territory call plan to optimize customer interactions, including virtual sales and face-face sales techniques
  • Analyze market data, Specialty Pharmacy data, and customer data to optimize time-in-territory
  • Collaborate with cross-functional USL partners & USL Specialty Pharmacy partner to develop solutions & remove access barriers for key accounts
  • Collaborate with marketing to identify and implement non-personal tactics
  • Attend conferences, symposiums, advocacy events & other exhibit opportunities to grow customer relationships
  • Complete all compliance and training requirements for disease state and product related sales training
  • Utilize CRM to record sales activity and to implement multichannel tactics
  • Complete all administrative duties according to company policies

REQUIREMENTS

A Bachelor's degree required with preference in Business, Biology or Chemistry. A minimum of 5 years previous pharmaceutical or biotechnology sales experience required. Strongly prefer a minimum 1 year of previous sales experience within a specialty market. Previous sales experience in Neurology or related specialty is strongly preferred. Ability to drive with a valid driver's license and to travel to all accounts within an assigned territory. Overnight travel required up to 50%.
