Summary: Perform cleaning and building maintenance duties both inside and outside the facility.

Safety is #1 at BTD: Our expectation is that every employee: 1) Strictly follows safety policies, rules and safe work methods. 2) Promptly corrects or reports safety hazards or unsafe conditions. Promptly reports injuries for prompt diagnosis and treatment. 3) Makes regular suggestions for safety process improvements to support continuous improvement in safety.

Essential Functions:

1. Performs general janitorial and related duties as assigned in the warehouse and production areas. Uses proper equipment, procedures and cleaning supplies when cleaning these areas as well as proper safety precautions when handling hazardous chemicals.

2. Cleans windows, vents, fixtures, walkways, steps and restrooms in the warehouse and production areas. Handles unscheduled duties as requested.

3. Removes snow from walks and steps with a shovel, tractor or snow blower as appropriate for amount and location of snow. Keeps sand and salt on walks and steps during icy/slippery conditions. Monitors weather conditions and determines when snow removal or ice treatment is necessary. Utilizes proper safety precautions when performing snow removal to avoid injury. Keeps doorways cleared per OSHA requirements.

4. Maintains building grounds by mowing lawn weekly, picking up litter daily, pulling weeds, painting, etc.

5. Participates fully in Company Five Pillars Program.

Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Graduation from high school or equivalent.

Experience and Skills Required: At least one year of recent related experience this includes the following skills and abilities:

1. General knowledge of materials, methods and practices used in cleaning and related custodial operations.

2. Skill in using cleaning and gardening tools, equipment and materials.

3. Ability to perform routine building maintenance activities in an effective, efficient manner.

4. Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with others.

5. Ability to understand and follow routine oral and written instructions.
