ABOUT THE JOB

The ERP Systems Administrator is responsible for ensuring that Hawkins's computer systems are maintained and operating reliably. This position has a focus on the JD Edwards (JDE) environment, Active Directory (AD) environment, and SOX audit responsibilities. Tasks performed by systems administrators include performing regular systems and security monitoring, handling backup procedures, and helping set up, maintain, and delete user accounts as required. They are also responsible for developing, maintaining, and monitoring (SOX) relevant procedures and standards that relate to the IT function within the organization. Additionally, they ensure that hardware and systems work as expected and maintain backups of the environments as needed. Systems administrators provide technical support related to systems within their organization as needed. They also handle patches and upgrades to ensure that applications and systems are keep up to date and operating effectively.

Responsibilities

      Strategy & Planning

      • Design, develop, deliver, maintain, and support our JDE environment.
      • Develop communications strategy for keeping end-users up to date on changes, enhancements, and tools related to JDE and other applications that the Systems Admin is responsible for.
      • Ensure that the performance levels are met for the various systems they are managing.
      • IT Lead for SOX compliance - responsible for planning for the SOX audit and adjusting departmental procedures to encompass new and emerging changes.

      Acquisition & Deployment

      • Evaluate and recommend tools and applications to support the JDE and AD environment.
      • Ensure data accuracy across all systems and create ad hoc reports.
      • JDE user ID creation and maintenance of approved application security and user profile changes.
      • Maintain and assign JDE application security, sign-on security, user/group/system security.
      • Perform regular system maintenance and monitoring and participate in analysis and troubleshooting of system and application issues in conjunction with the development team.
      • Perform JDE object and application deployments (i.e. deploy package builds, complete generation of serialized objects for JDE web applications).
      • Configure and manager change control. Setup and use of Object Management Workbench (OMW) and Object Management Configuration (OMC).
      • IT Lead for SOX compliance - ensuring that the department is planning and implementing the correct procedures regarding SOX compliance.

      Operational Management

      • Provide hands-on system administration support, system maintenance and operations support.
      • Recommend software and hardware enhancements.
      • Build, configure, and troubleshoot software and hardware enhancements, application deployments and infrastructure up-grades.
      • Monitor, diagnose, and correct computer systems issues.
      • Responsible for environment and end user security, including security across all platforms in the JDE environment.
      • Create documentation and provide training around the systems supported.
      • IT Lead for SOX compliance - work with internal and external auditors to provide the data needed for the IT audit.

                  ABOUT YOU

                  • A college diploma or university degree in the field of computer science and 5 to 10 years equivalent work experience.
                  • Experience with JDE EnterpriseOne (E1) logic, web, and application servers required.
                  • JDE E1 CNC Administration/Installation/Support experience.
                  • Project lead on a minimum of one JDE tools upgrade and at least one JDE applications upgrade.
                  • Experience with Windows desktop and Server operating systems.
                  • Ability to absorb and retain information quickly.
                  • Ability to present ideas in user-friendly language.
                  • Effective interpersonal skills and relationship-building skills.
