Overview

Element has an opportunity for a Chromatography/Technical Trainer to share chromatography/Mass spectrometry knowledge with a diverse range of customers. This role is UK based with preferred location in South of England.


Element, are the UK's premier supplier of chromatography products, training and technical services. We aim to offer fast delivery, great after sales care and expert technical support the products we supply. The position involves the delivery and production of training courses in Chromatography (HPLC and GC), Mass Spectrometry and related subjects. In addition, you will be involved in consultancy projects to support our clients analytical requirements and will also be responsible for developing the sales of our training and consultancy product lines. The role involves extensive travel and overnight stays, typically 1-2 nights per week

Responsibilities
    Deliver chromatography (HPLC/GC) and Mass Spectrometry training courses to customers across the UK (typically 2 - 3 courses per week, including mix of face-to-face and online delivery)
  • Liaise with the customer to qualify the technical aspects of training courses in advance of delivery
  • Create, review and update course material to continuously improve our chromatography training portfolio
  • Develop good working relationships with customers and support them with their HPLC/GC/MS challenges
  • Identify instrument and consumable sales opportunities for sales colleagues
Skills / Qualifications
  • Life Science Degree or similar
  • Significant practical chromatography experience (HPLC/GC/Mass Spectrometry) is essential
  • Good theoretical knowledge of HPLC (MS) and/or GC (MS) techniques
  • Fundamental understanding of analytical chemistry
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Highly motivated and self-starting
  • Comfortable with extensive travel within the south of England and flexible to cover in other UK areas
