WHAT YOU WILL EXPERIENCE IN THIS POSITION:

The Director of Enterprise Sourcing and Procurement Excellence will lead nVent's approach to building process excellence across the procurement life cycle (source to pay) of direct and indirect categories. This role will interact, influence, and make an impact at all levels of the organization working closely with direct reports, key business partners and sourcing peers to improve processes and capabilities, minimize risk, increasing value and service levels. The role strives to contribute to the organization by delivering bottom-line results and will provide the leadership, vision, and insights needed to grow process maturity, prioritize best in class capabilities to be built, and lead the team to create transformed processes, systems, and digital capabilities in a matrix structure across global operations. This position reports to the SVP of Enterprise ISC.

  • Develop a strategic approach to transforming capabilities for the sourcing and procurement of goods and services across the source to contract (spend analysis, strategic sourcing, contract management) and procure to pay (supplier development, payment, requisitioning).

  • Analyze the supply base with key operational partners and present alternate solutions that optimize business growth and improve business efficiencies, including responsible sourcing, supplier development, quality, delivery and cost.

  • Develop and implement sourcing and procurement-related training programs for teams and suppliers to ensure processes are in place that grow our people and our organization so that we can successfully scale to meet our customers' needs.

  • Lead the creation of a transformation roadmap and pipeline of initiatives to plan, lead, and implement with the organization.

  • Monitor industry trends and changes in the competitive landscape to find opportunities and risks and work with the team to adjust sourcing and procurement strategies accordingly.

  • Facilitate business strategic plans and help develop them into tactical procurement plans that promote effectiveness and efficiency.

  • Lead the development and implementation of enterprise policies, procedures and systems including performance metrics for the department to ensure compliance in global operations.

  • Act as a key leadership point of escalation with suppliers/strategic partners and peers, handling policy rollout and escalation.

  • Support procurement functions including but not limited to the management of, item numbers, requisition, purchase orders, etc.

YOU HAVE:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Supply Chain, or Finance is required. MBA preferred.

  • 8+ years' experience leading all phases of the sourcing and procurement process.

  • 5+ years of experience in leadership positions within Business Operations or related fields regarding Supply Chain Management.

  • APICS Certification (CSCP, CTSC, CPSM) preferred.

  • Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply (CIPS) preferred.

  • Lean Six Sigma knowledge preferred.

  • Experience in risk management and loss control.

  • Strong negotiation and contract management skills.

  • Proven analytical abilities and quantitative skills with experience building best in class sourcing and procurement capabilities.

  • Strong leadership and people management skills, with a track record of hiring, developing, and motivating high-performing teams.

  • Demonstrated ability to work independently, set direction, work efficiently and meet deadlines.
