About the role:

CLA is looking to hire a Controller for our Consulting & Outsourcing practice who can sit in our Boise, ID office. Consulting & Outsourcing helps our clients transform their business with a collaborative approach that allows them to seamlessly mitigate risk, overcome challenges, meet deadlines, and identify personnel to help them with their workforce needs.

As a Controller, you will:

  • Assist the accounting team to record complex transactions
  • Review complex account reconciliations prepared by the accounting team
  • Complete the monthly, quarterly, and annual adjusting and closing process.
  • Adhere to the client's organizational policies and procedures, federal and state policies and directives, and current accounting standards.
  • Provide detailed review of the general ledger, financial statements and required work papers
  • Prepare work papers for the independent auditors, if applicable
  • Analyze and interpret financial information and regularly present to the client's leadership
  • Develop budgets, analyze variances and implement corrective actions as needed
  • Review payroll and payroll tax compliance

What you will need:

  • A BS degree in accounting or related field required.
  • 6 years relevant work experience as a Controller or equivalent is required.
  • Accounting back office experience is required.
  • Relevant experience in the Hospitality industry is preferred
  • Public accounting experience preferred but not required.
  • CPA certification is preferred but not required.
  • Aptitude for developing and maintaining a thorough working knowledge of accounting software and systems. QuickBooks experience is preferred.
  • Proficiency with applicable software (Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, etc).
  • Ability to travel to local client sites.
