Your Opportunity as a Plant Quality Manager

Location: Grandview, WA

Work Arrangements: 100% on-site

In this role you will:

  • Member of the Plant Leadership Team
  • Lead the Quality Pillar for the plant, setting direction, building capability, maintaining master plans
  • Build skills and capabilities in Quality System owners and leaders. Ensure effectiveness of site QA training program (new hire and ongoing QA training.)
  • Provide coaching to plant operations on quality systems and day-to-day quality issues
  • Drive continuous improvement in the quality programs
  • Serve as product & process technical expert
  • Accountable for the development, maintenance and implementation of Food Safetyand Food Defense plans for the plant
  • Assure internal specification and governmental regulatory compliance
  • Lead preparation and follow up for all internal or external quality audits and FDA/health department audits
  • Accountable for ensuring food safety including sanitation procedures and programs
  • Responsible for plant quality results including finished product release and timely disposition of holds
  • Review and evaluate Consumer Complaints. Provide investigation support to Corporate.
  • Develop and maintain quality documentation for the plant.
  • Manage Quality cost center budget
  • Own outside service contracts for pest control and 3rd party lab testing
  • Function as plant recall leader
  • Lead and develop the Quality Department: 1 Specialist and 2 Lab Techs
  • Assist Corporate Quality: Main contact for pesticide results; assist in auditing of third-party cold storage warehouses

What we are looking for:

Minimum Requirements:

  • A bachelor's degree in food science, Biology, Chemistry, or related field
  • At least 3 years of related QA experience
  • A working knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices, FDA and USDA regulations, food plant production and best practices, environmental regulations, food safety and sanitation methods, as well as, developing and maintaining HACCP plans.
  • Strong Communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Strong problem-solving skills using Critical Thinking techniques
  • Ability to make decisions under pressure
  • Works well in a team environment
  • Strong data analysis and technical skills
  • Excellent inter-personal skills
  • Proven ability leading projects

Additional skills and experience that we think would make someone successful in this role:

  • Experience leading, supervising, or managing others in a manufacturing environment
  • Prior experience in the CPG industry.
  • Experience with BRC standards.
  • Salary Range = $89K - $118K
