OVERVIEW

 

We are seeking a Director of Quality who will lead our quality team to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and alignment with company objectives and quality standards. The ideal candidate will be results-oriented and able to sustain and improve a world-class, robust, and efficient quality organization and quality management system (QMS). You will provide oversight to product quality in design, development, manufacturing, and supply of products/services, ensuring that customer and organizational expectations are met or exceeded. In addition, you will be expected to wear many hats and provide other functions in the company as the need arises and as the skill fit allows. As a critical champion of the culture of quality, you will align best with our delivery of a world-class homeowner experience at Renewal by Andersen.

 

The Director of Quality will provide strategic leadership to the manufacturing site(s) to ensure compliance with quality management system policies and procedures while meeting customer requirements. You will be responsible for the local quality management system, including management review, complaint handling, and internal and customer nonconformance management. You will also lead the execution of enterprise quality initiatives and promote a culture of quality across the enterprise. This role will work directly with the Quality team to drive results and work extensively with cross-functional teams to execute necessary changes to continue delivering high-quality products and experiences.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develops and sets strategic direction for quality that integrates, customer, product and market requirements while promoting the development of new products and establishing systems to ensure effective post market surveillance to ensure business compliance, growth and sustainability.
  • Oversee company and division improvement initiatives to increase performance and efficiency in Quality processes and systems.
  • Identify and monitor key performance indicators for Quality and drive improvement initiatives.
  • One of your primary responsibilities will be to lead your direct reports, which include any combination of Quality Managers, supervisors, quality engineers, and other quality, regulatory affairs and engineering professionals. As such, you will champion talent development within the quality organization by leveraging individual growth and development plans and organizational succession plans.
  • As an element of our belief that we all Own Quality, you establish a culture of quality amongst your team and across the site and/or division and establish the expectation for compliance to the established Quality Management System.
  • Based on your assessment of a specific situation, you may recommend and coordinate cross functional and/or organizational support to resolve an issue.
  • Collaborate and communicate with external vendors, competitors, and researchers to ensure Enterprise Quality practices remain consistent with best practices in the industry Establishes, implements, and maintains metrics to continuously improve key performance indicators such as reduced NCR rates, improved yields, CAPA effectiveness, audit outcomes, supplier management. 
  • Leadership of Sustained Change by identifying opportunities to continuously improve our processes and products and ensuring implementation of such changes comply with all customers contractual obligations and regulatory requirements.
  • Standardization through workplace organization & visual controls (5S), Manufacturing Standard Work, robust training & certification programs and the adoption of Quality policies and procedures that are aligned to and harmonized with the enterprise Quality Management Systems.
  • Provides oversight for investigations, root-cause analysis, and other problem-solving activities to identify effective corrective actions and process improvements.
  • Establish Quality processes and procedures, hold operating groups accountable for Quality procedures.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering; Quality Management or related science discipline.
  • Preferably, you are an ASQ Certified Quality Manager and/or Engineer and you have completed the Six Sigma Black Belt certification program or equivalent.
  • 15 years leading quality management or technical team; experience leading a quality function is preferred.
  • Working knowledge of multiple quality disciplines, especially risk management, reliability, safety and compliance.

In 2024, Andersen has set a profit-sharing target of $4,000 per eligible employee, prorated as appropriate. Profit sharing will be paid out in quarterly installments to provide eligible employees with payments throughout the year, with payment amounts tied to quarterly operating profit performance.
