Nexus-Mille Lacs offers trauma-informed, family-centered, nationally recognized treatment for boys, ages 10-19, with significant mental health issues and harmful sexual behaviors. Responsibilities:

  • Fulfills the required academic program and or/Academic Institution's criteria for an internship learning objectives
  • Participates in the orientation and the onboarding process to learn Nexus Family Healing's policy and procedure expectations (e.g. safety, harassment free environment, resident confidentiality, etc.)
  • Ensures confidentiality of all treatment and services information pertaining to clients and their families
  • Maintains agreed upon schedule and timeliness
  • Meets the supervision requirements and expectations
  • Acts ethically, professionally, and is respectful when communicating and interfacing with clients, coworkers, and external contacts

Qualifications:

  • Must be enrolled in a master's or other graduate degree in one of the behavioral sciences, human services, or related fields, from an accredited college or university.
  • Must meet the required number of experience hours in a human services field for the internship level
  • Valid driver's license required and meets the state regulating agency and Nexus Corporate driving requirements
  • Knowledge of family-based philosophy and practice is preferred

Physical Demands:

  • Must be able to assist staff in physical interventions and restraints
  • Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods of time (2-4 hours)
  • Must be able to twist, bend and stretch in a manner conducive to daily activities within a residential treatment facility
