Job Description

Regions Hospital is looking to hire an exceptional, experienced Staff Development Specialist to join our Nursing Education team. This position will conduct and analyze learning needs assessments for nursing staff as well as plan, coordinate, present, and evaluate orientation and educational programs for all nursing employees.

Work Schedule: 1.0 FTE, primarily Day Shifts

Required Qualifications:
*Graduation from an accredited program in Nursing (RN). Master's degree in nursing, education, or training and development required OR Master's degree in in process with an established date of completion
*Two years (4160 hours) of acute care experience as a clinical staff nurse within the last 5 years
*Licensed as a registered nurse by the State of Minnesota
*Demonstration of annual training and completion of competencies in staff development and/or adult learning and training
*Demonstrated effectiveness in precepting and/or conducting clinical education
*Knowledge of current nursing best practices and techniques
*Knowledge of curriculum development and principles of adult learning and learner-centered training
*Knowledge of adult and learner-centered education methodologies
*Ability to assess educational needs and plan and implement appropriate education to meet those needs
*Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing, with nursing leadership peers, students, and other health care personnel
*Skilled in-patient information systems in electronic medical record

Preferred Qualifications:
*Certified in area of specialty by recognized nursing credentialing, specialty certification in Nursing Professional Development preferred
*Experienced with Cornerstone learning management system and Articulate software preferred.
