Job Description

What success looks like in this role:

- Design and implement highly secure cloud architectures in a government contractor cloud environment (IL5), ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.

- Lead a team of cloud architects and engineers, providing technical guidance and mentorship to drive successful project delivery.

- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand customer requirements and translate them into innovative cloud solutions.

- Develop and maintain cloud architecture frameworks, best practices, and standards to ensure consistency and scalability across projects.

- Conduct regular security assessments and audits to identify potential vulnerabilities and recommend appropriate remediation strategies.

- Stay up-to-date with emerging cloud technologies and industry trends, and assess their potential impact on the government cloud environment.

- Act as a trusted advisor to customers, providing consultative support and guidance on cloud adoption strategies, cost optimization, and performance improvement.

- Lead customer workshops and presentations to articulate the value proposition of cloud solutions and drive customer satisfaction.

- Drive innovation by identifying opportunities to leverage cloud services and emerging technologies to enhance the security and efficiency of government cloud environments.

- Collaborate with vendors and third-party providers to evaluate and select cloud technologies and services that align with customer requirements and security standards.

You will be successful in this role if you have:

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Advanced degree preferred.

- Minimum of 8 years of experience in designing and implementing cloud architectures, with a focus on high security government cloud environments.

- Strong leadership skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a team to achieve project goals and deliver exceptional results.

- Proven experience in customer-facing roles, with the ability to build strong relationships and effectively communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

- Deep understanding of cloud security principles, best practices, and compliance frameworks such as FedRAMP, FISMA, and NIST.

- Extensive knowledge of cloud platforms such as AWS GovCloud, Microsoft Azure Government, or Google Cloud Government, and their respective services.

- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to identify and resolve complex technical challenges in a fast-paced environment.

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate technical concepts clearly and concisely.

- Relevant certifications such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Professional, Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert, or Google Cloud Certified - Professional Cloud Architect are highly desirable.

Personnel Requirements for Government Department of Defense (DOD) Contract:

- Must be a U.S. Citizen with the ability to obtain and maintain a government security clearance.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience working on DOD contracts or in a similar government defense environment.
- Strong knowledge of DOD acquisition processes, regulations, and compliance requirements.
- Familiarity with DOD security standards and guidelines, including NIST SP 800-171 and DFARS.
- Understanding of DOD contract management and procurement procedures.
- Experience working with DOD stakeholders, including program managers, contracting officers, and technical teams.
- Ability to navigate complex organizational structures and work effectively in a matrixed environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate and build relationships with diverse teams.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to produce accurate and high-quality deliverables.
- Demonstrated ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Relevant certifications, such as DAWIA certification or Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act training, are highly desirable.
- Willingness to undergo additional security clearance processes as required by the specific DOD contract.
