POSITION SUMMARY

As a Senior Tax Analyst with Liberty Diversified International (LDI) you will support all things tax related including tax planning, reporting and compliance processes for all tax types, including assistance with preparation and filing of returns (federal, state and international as required), M&A exposure, audits, and tax research. This 2-person team works closely with colleagues across the broader accounting and finance functions and the business leaders across several different operating divisions throughout North America and Mexico and were growing! This full-time, hybrid remote positionis located in LDIs headquarters in New Hope, Minnesota and reports directly to the Tax Manager.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist in the preparation and timely filing of a consolidated C-corporation federal income tax return and various state and local income tax returns.
  • Assist with federal, state, and local income tax audits and preparation of quarterly income tax estimates.
  • Lead the sales and use tax function ensuring all state and local sales and use tax filings are accurately prepared and filed by the 3rd party vendor.
  • Ensure LDI is current on all required sales/use tax registrations and assist with all sales and use tax audits.
  • Prepare business personal property tax renditions and review property tax assessments.
  • Assist in the preparation of income tax provisions, deferred tax analysis, FIN 48, and tax related financial disclosures.
  • Identify and implement cost-saving and/or time-saving initiatives.
  • Partner with third party CPA firms to assist with tax compliance and research activities including outsourced returns, audits, and tax return reviews.
  • Assist with the development and implementation of tax strategies.
  • Research and analyze issues affecting the companys federal, state, international, and local tax compliance and planning.
  • Provide tax guidance to internal and external customers regarding applicability of state and local sales and use tax rules to specify fact patterns and work with them to resolve transaction tax related issues.
  • Other duties, as assigned.

REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS

  • A minimum of a 4-year degree in accounting.
  • 4+ years of public accounting experience, or equivalent private industry experience.
  • Familiarity with C corporation organizational structure.
  • Experience and working knowledge of income tax software (e.g., Thomson Reuters ONESOURCE).
  • Strong work ethic with excellent time management, communication, prioritization and organizational skills as well as the ability to research and communicate tax updates and changes.

PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS

  • A Certified Public Accountant (CPA) Strongly preferred
  • Experience with sales and use tax.
  • Accounting experience inside a manufacturing environment.
