POSITION SUMMARY

As the Senior Benefits Analyst with Liberty Diversified International, you will be part of the Total Rewards Team responsible for the management and administration of all U.S. and Mexico employee benefit programs and vendor relationships. You will support the design, analysis, and implementation of such programs and partner with managers and employees across all levels of the organization to provide benefits-related expertise and support. In addition, this role will play a key part in any acquisition integration activities and support the organization as it continues to grow.

Key outcomes include benefit comparison & analysis of current offerings compared to strategy, development of short-term and long-term implementation timelines for benefit changes to meet strategy, and a communication plan to meet employee engagement initiatives. Continual review of the strategy and adjustments to the timelines to meet ever changing market and company goals. Overall accountability for ensuring accuracy, integrity, timeliness, and availability of benefits-related data and information.

This a full-time Hybrid Remote position that reports directly to the Director, Total Rewards and is located at LDIs headquarters in New Hope, Minnesota.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Administer U.S. and Mexico employee benefit programs including program management, day-to-day operations, governance, compliance, analysis, and employee communication activities.
  • Model and analyze cost, employee & administrative impacts of new benefits and updates to existing benefits
  • Perform regular audits of benefits data to ensure integrity and compliance with management of such benefit programs in aligned with plan agreements. Manages 401(k) compliance testing and audit processes. Proactively resolve discrepancies in partnership with benefit brokers and vendors.
  • Proactively monitors, researches and evaluates new and existing corporate benefit plans, programs, regulatory updates, and best practices to meet the organization's strategy
  • Key partner and driver of the annual open enrollment process including assisting in the development of plan design recommendations, communication materials, enrollment meeting presentations, answering employee questions, data entry coordination and final validation of enrollment elections
  • Manage the benefit plan system set-up and data exchange process between LDI and its various vendors; serve as the primary LDI contact with internal HRIS resources and vendors to resolve issues
  • Support and participate in the Retirement Plan (401(k)) Investment Committee meeting process
  • Plan and coordinate benefit material updates and communications related to annual processes, important updates, benefit enhancements, open enrollment and legal compliance.
  • Assist with various benefit survey benchmarking studies. Reviews survey results and provides recommendations on additions/deletions of the benchmark benefits
  • Assists leave of absence TPA and/or HR partners with any leave related issues and/or inquiries
  • Coordinate on-going partnership and interactions with TPAs, insurance providers, brokers, and auditors
  • Partner with internal and external resources to complete the annual Benefit Plan Audit and 5500 filing process
  • Assist with long-term and short-term benefit strategy planning and coordination
  • Coordinate benefit changes with internal & external resources including Payroll, Legal, Finance, HRBPs, etc.
  • Ongoing, scheduled responsibilities to support Finance, i.e. generating invoices and reports, utilizing DataServ for invoice submission and approvals
  • Create and/or update programs and policies
  • Create educational and communication tools for HRBPs usage
  • Support plan mergers and new implementation initiatives
  • Proactively identifies system, data and process improvements to increase efficiencies and productivity
  • Participate in other benefit initiatives as needed

REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS

  • Bachelors degree in human resources, Accounting, or a relevant specialty
  • 5+ years experience in benefits
  • Strong working knowledge of health and welfare benefit administration practices
  • Working knowledge of 401(k) plans and related ERISA regulations
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, demonstrating an attention to detail and audit capabilities
  • Demonstrated strong verbal/written communication and presentation skills
  • Advanced skills in MS Office Suite applications, specifically Excel and PowerPoint; strong proficiency in using Excel formulas (e.g. Vlookups) and functions to gather, analyze, manipulate and audit large data sets
  • Demonstrated customer service skills, having the ability to interact effectively with all levels of employee and management
  • Ability to work independently with varying levels of direction from management
  • Strong organizational and prioritization skills
  • Ability to handle confidential employee information with discretion and exercise good judgment

PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS

  • Certified Employee Benefits (CEBS), Certified Benefits Professional (CBP), Group Benefits Associate (GBA) or similar designation preferred
  • Working knowledge of ADP Vantage software applications and products and/or similar HCM platforms
