This post-doctoral scholar will work closely with Dr. Marla Eisenberg and team on an R01-funded mixed-methods study, . This study is based at the University of Minnesota, Department of Pediatrics, Division of General Pediatrics and Adolescent Health (remote work may be an option). Responsibilities and opportunities include:

• Managing, combining, and analyzing multiple large survey data sources on adolescent health
• Coding and analyzing qualitative interview data
• Developing manuscripts for publication as both lead author and co-author, and other scientific dissemination (e.g. presentations)
• Translating research findings and developing dissemination materials for community audiences
• Preparing grant proposals for related research
• Participating in team science with, and gaining mentorship from, a large and diverse group of leaders in the fields of adolescent health and development, sexual orientation and gender identity, intersectionality, minority stress
• Participating in the program
  

Minimum qualifications include:

• Deep understanding of the lived experience of LGBTQ+ youth of color
• Ph.D. (or other doctoral level) degree in field appropriate for project (e.g. public health, nursing, sociology, psychology, demography, education, human development/family sciences)
• Knowledge of one or more of the following fields of study: adolescent health, sexual orientation/gender identity, intersectionality
• Outstanding data management and statistical analysis skills AND/OR outstanding qualitative analysis skills
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and remotely
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including scientific writing
• Willingness to engage in sensitive or uncomfortable conversations with a large team

Preferred Qualifications include:

• Experience with advanced statistical methods for survey research
• Experience with qualitative data organization and coding (NVivo software)
• Experience securing research funding
• Experience working with communities of color and/or the LGBTQ community
• Experience working with confidential data in terms of Human Subjects and HIPAA requirements
