Position Overview: The graduate assistant for administration will be involved with the day-to-day administration of a Division II athletic department and must attend all athletic-related activities as required. The graduate assistant must be enrolled in an approved graduate program at Concordia University, St. Paul and must be making satisfactory progress toward that degree. The graduate assistant will support the mission and values of CSP and perform duties as assigned that enhance the overall educational experience of CSP student-athletes.

Essential Duties of the Position
  • Administration: Attending and participating in full department staff meetings as well as weekly leadership team meetings for planning and execution of upcoming game and event needs
  • Fan/Student Engagement and Game Presentation: Responsible for videoboard & gameday music content, student/fan engagement efforts including but not limited to: social media and email advertising, Bear Brigade Student Rewards Program, student promotions and engagement, promotion of special events, coordinating game-day activities with constituents such as pep band, national anthem singers, mascots, special guests, etc.
  • Fundraising/Sponsorships: Assist in the management of C Club gifts and benefit fulfillment, work with the Athletic Director & Athletics Marketing Director to fulfill contractual obligations for sponsors
  • Marketing: Design and produce high-quality marketing pieces that communicate a strategic Athletics message to a broad audience in many different media formats (such as videos, social media content, digital ads, posters, newsletters, e-mail campaigns, etc.)
  • Management of Student Interns and Workers: Oversee Athletic department marketing internship program, including scheduling and guidance of selected interns, schedule and oversee student workers as needed, particularly for the roles of athletic merchandise sales and Comet the Bear.
  • Community Engagement: Assist with departmental community engagement efforts, including but not limited to the operation of Comet's Kids Club, and scheduling community outreach opportunities
  • Other duties as assigned. Abide by NCAA, NSIC, and CSP rules and regulations.
Education & Experience:
  • Must be enrolled in a Master's Program at Concordia University, St. Paul
  • 1-2 years of marketing, promotions, or public relations experience in intercollegiate athletics
  • Strong working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite
  • Experience with a DSLR or mirrorless camera
Additional Demands: Position requires long hours standing and minor lifting
Exceptions: May require exposure to adverse weather conditions, frequently involves night and weekend hours
