Here's how a(n)Senior Communications Specialistfor our Minneapolisoffice contributes to our team:

Responsibilities
  • Leads high-risk, complex, or multifaceted events that involve multiple stakeholders and requires consensus building. Coordinates deliverables with a team of individuals (creating a plan, delegating tasks, overseeing budget, etc.).
  • Leads communication plans for mid-size to large projects and initiatives and ensures they are measurable. Coordinates and manages the resources and change management process to ensure success.
  • Works collaboratively with creative professionals to create appropriate visual communications solutions. Aligns both written and visual communications to meet the business need.
  • Communicates complex items through written communication that are tailored to the right audience. Provides recommendations on the appropriate communication medium and ensures PCL standards are met.
  • Develops and executes external communication strategies for a topic/project/initiative.
  • Collaborates with clients on social media and looks for opportunities to partner. Identifies potential risks on social media and recommends action.
  • Monitors local media-relations efforts and responds to crisis communications.
  • Leads and enhances brand awareness through internal/external communication.
  • Provides superior editing and proofreading support.
Qualifications
  • Postsecondary degree or diploma in marketing, communications, journalism, or equivalent.
  • 7 years of progressive experience in a communications role.
  • Ability to create, execute, and manage a multifaceted communications plan.
  • Demonstrates a high level of critical thinking and sound decision-making skills; ability to identify and mitigate risks.
  • In-depth understanding of the various communications mediums and ability to determine appropriate communication medium for the situation.
  • Ability to effectively apply visual communications assets in alignment to PCL's visual brand identity.
  • Ability to coach and mentor entry-level communications professionals.
  • Ability to interpret and use data analytics to analyze information and make recommendations.
  • Advanced editing and proofreading skills with the ability to identify business priorities and potential sensitivities.
  • Advanced skills with Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft Office
