Job Description

Position Description: The Simone Laboratory in the Radiation Oncology Department at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in Philadelphia, PA is seeking an outstanding post-doctoral fellow to work in the area of cancer, diet, metabolic reprogramming and radiation biology. This NIH funded position will focus on in vitro and in vivo preclinical models and also analysis of clinical trial samples to understand how metabolic interventions can improve cancer outcomes. Our laboratory is translational and has significant experience taking our preclinical findings to the clinic and anticipate the findings here to build our next clinical trial experience.

The candidate must be highly motivated, independent and interested in our projects. The candidate must have PhD in molecular biology, cell biology or a cancer related field. Although not absolutely necessary, the ideal candidate will preferably have some experience with in vivo tumor experiments, molecular biology, microRNA and radiation biology are also a plus. In addition, qualified candidates must be able to independently generate hypotheses, design and carry out experiments to test the hypothesis, analyze data and have strong verbal and written communication skills to be able to present results in the form of presentations, abstracts, and manuscripts. The successful candidate will have mentoring so that career goals can be achieved and will join a highly interactive, collaborative and interdisciplinary team of researchers. Preference will be given to individuals with these skill sets who are now completing their thesis work or in the first few years of their current postdoctoral fellowship and have at least one high-impact publication.
