Responsibilities

  • Completes comprehensive health histories and assessments
  • Manage symptoms and follow-up
  • Performs physical exams
  • Sees and cares for clinic patients in follow-up, advance care planning, and Survivorship appointments
  • Incorporates evidence-based research into clinical practice
  • Provides case management for oncology patients and their families
  • Assists physicians and performs procedures as needed
  • Provides clinical support to the clinical and non-clinical care team
  • Assess patient/family needs and provides education
  • Support the survivorship program - promotes wellness and recommends community resources to meet patient and family needs.
  • Hospital rounding
  • Covers MD vacations/MD EHR queue when physicians are on vacation



Qualifications

  • Nurse Practitioner
    • Masters of Science in Nursing (MSN) from an accredited program for nursing education
    • Current Minnesota RN license and current certification as Nurse Practitioner
    • Minimum of three years of experience as a practicing NP
    • Experience and knowledge in the management of the physiologic and psychological effect of a cancer diagnosis and subsequent treatment strongly preferred
    • Prefer previous experience in oncology
  • Physician Assistant
    • Successful completion of an accredited Physician Assistant program
    • Minimum of three years' experience as a practicing Physician Assistant
    • Prefer previous experience in oncology
    • Current MN state licensure and current CPR certification required
    • Experience and knowledge in the management of the physiologic and psychological effect of a cancer diagnosis and subsequent treatment strongly preferred
