Bio-Engineer / Molecular Biologist / Cell Biologist Co-op

PURPOSE

We are seeking a highly motivated student for a Co-op position in the Crop Science Innovations Technology Team within Bayer Crop Science Plant Biotechnology division. The candidate will support and train using advanced multiplexing, automation and high-throughput screening platforms. The project will also involve basic molecular biology skills to advanced technologies like Microfluidics and some parts of eukaryotic cell biology. The candidate will help in establishing protocols and assays using cutting edge technology and imaging systems. The successful applicant would also be able to receive training in basic wet lab skills to advanced molecular techniques. YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The primary responsibilities of this role are to:

  • Design experiments, execute and troubleshoot for desired outcome
  • Develop protocols and assays for advanced platforms
  • FACS, Imaging, Cell culture
  • Proper documentation of experiments and maintain thorough records
  • Ability to use small equipment following standard safety measures

Required Qualifications:

  • Currently pursuing a PhD within the U.S, in BioEngineering, Biology, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, or related field
  • Basic knowledge of bioengineering automated workflows
  • Basic computer skills
  • Basic microscopy skills
  • Ability to learn and apply new concepts and techniques
  • Troubleshooting
  • Work in diverse team environment
  • Good communication skills
  • Good record keeping
  • Interest to read literature and learn

This is a 6-month Fall Co-op from June 10, 2024 - November 29, 2024.
