As we continue to expand our product portfolio, we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Staff Communications Engineer with a strong focus on power line communications technology integration to join our dynamic team.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute test cases for our solar monitoring Gateway and web interface.
- Identify, document, and report bugs, inconsistencies, and improvements in Jira.
- Collaborate with the development team to ensure high-quality releases.
- Perform regression, functional, and stress testing.
- Understand the needs and pain points of solar installers to enhance product usability.
- Validate data accuracy and system stability during various phases of testing.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure comprehensive test coverage.
Minimal Qualifications:
- Minimum 2 years of experience in software QA testing.
- Proficiency in using Jira for bug tracking and test management.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Familiarity with the solar industry, including solar microinverters.
- Experience in API testing is a plus.
- Knowledge of test automation frameworks.
Physical demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear; and use hands to manipulate objects or controls. The employee is regularly required to stand and walk. On occasion the incumbent may be required to stoop, bend or reach above the shoulders. The employee must occasionally lift up to 25 pounds. Specific conditions of this job are typical of frequent and continuous computer-based work requiring periods of sitting; close vision and ability to adjust focus. Occasional travel.
Compensation:
Generac is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. The salary range for this role based in Pacific Palisades, California is $120,000-150,000 USD. This compensation will ultimately be in line with the location in which the position is filled. Final compensation for this role will be determined by various factors such as a candidate's relevant work experience, skills, certifications, and geographic location.
