POSITION SUMMARY:

The Senior Manager, Sales is responsible for developing and maintaining professional relationships with sales industry partners. This includes new company prospecting and growth as well as new revenue generation for products, programs, and services for all sales outside of AAN conferences. This role will also manage the sales strategy in partnership with the Director, Sales and Industry Relations. This position has oversight for the implementation and attainment for AAN Leadership program support and sponsorship revenue stream, and is responsible for the day-to-day sales operations, including logistics planning and benefit fulfillment for sponsorships and advertising.


ESSENTIAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:

Sales Operations

  • Oversee the day-to-day sales operations, including logistics planning and benefit fulfilment for sponsorships and advertising
  • Monitor sales metrics and budgets related to sales, including identifying trends and areas for improvement and growth
  • Manage and implement optimal strategies to meet timelines and budgets for sales secured
  • Collaborate with Grants Program Manager to set project, sales goals, and budgets


Program Sponsorships

  • Oversight for global analysis, implementation and attainment, primarily for AAN Leadership program support and sponsorship revenue streams. Partners with Director, Sales and Industry Relations for strategic goal recommendations.
  • Analyze program data to identify trends and disseminate analysis to funding partners
  • Collaborate with AAN Leadership team to set project, sales goals, and budgets


Sales Planning

  • Analyze market trends and competitive landscape and identify opportunities and challenges for our organization's products/services
  • Develop and execute comprehensive sales plans, and tactics to achieve revenue and profitability targets
  • Partner with Director, Sales and Industry Relations for sales planning strategies
  • Collaborate with other divisions to set project, sales goals, and budgets
  • Responsible for diversification of sales revenue for programs and new and/or prospective business
  • Accountable for a minimum of two million dollars in sales revenue


Customer Relationship Management

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with key industry partners to advise them on sales and sponsorships opportunities to achieve their business goals
  • Responsible for prospecting new companies to be involved with the organization to maintain revenue targets
  • Address and resolve customer inquiries and concerns in a timely and professional manner


Team Leadership

  • Provides direct employee supervision which includes the selection, training, performance management, compensation administration, and termination of employees
  • Foster a positive and collaborative team culture, encouraging teamwork and a customer-focused approach
  • Motivate and support a team of sales professionals, to consistently meet or exceed their sales goals

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Sales, Communication or related field is required


Experience:

  • Minimum of 5 years sales experience required
  • Minimum of 5 years medical device/pharmacy industry experience preferred
  • Minimum of 3 years of supervisory experience required; AAN employees may substitute supervisory requirement with 3 years leading program teams, project teams, and/or team lead experience.
  • Demonstrated track record of consistently meeting or exceeding sales targets and driving revenue growth is required.

Equivalent combination of education and experience beyond the minimum requirement may be substituted for qualification requirements.


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities required and not included above:

  • Proficiency in using CRM software and sales performance analysis tools is required
  • Excellent time management skills, ability to deliver when facing multiple projects with tight deadlines are required
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with customers and internal stakeholders are required
  • Analytical mindset, ability to interpret data and make data-driven decisions is required
  • Prior budget management skills, including budget preparation, analysis and reporting for effective planning is required
  • Ability to handle confidential information is required


ADDITIONAL POSITION INFORMATION:

FLSA Classification: Exempt

Travel Requirements: Some travel required - approximately 10%. Ability to legally travel outside of the United States, particularly but not limited to Canada.

Location: Minneapolis, MN and is identified as primarily remote (ability to work remotely, but required to work in the office as needed or requested)

Schedule: Some evenings and weekends required

Physical Requirements: Standard office setting, with the ability to sit, stand, or utilize alternative seating arrangements for long periods of time as needed. Occasional use of stairs or accessibility devices. Regular use of computer and office equipment, with consideration for adaptive technologies as necessary. Lifting requirements of up to 10 lbs., with accommodations provided for individuals with varying physical capabilities.
