Job Description

Responsible for managing and reporting on all facets of Incoming Quality, In-process Quality and Finished Product Quality. Ensure that customer and design requirements are being met on purchased components, assembled machines and accessories/service kits using inspection, control anddetection basedprocesses.Has authority and responsibility to Stop Production or issue Quality Hold Notificationin order to ensure machines and accessories/service kits which do not meet customer or design requirement are not shipped. Represent the voice of the Customer (VOC) and drive the development of aquality basedculture within the assembly and/or distribution operation.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Quality Management System

  • Ensure compliance with Quality management system (applicable ISO or internal standards)

  • Manage and coordinate internal audits to ensure compliance.

  • Facilitate and conduct Management review and required renewal or surveillance audits

  • Ensure alignment with corporate systems, procedures, processes

  • Progress the development and implementation of proactive andprevention basedquality controls

  • Manage department budgets and meet annual objectives

  • Manage quality resources, ensure alignment of skills vs requirements, progress organizational development and ensure compliance to performance management process.

  • Responsible for ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 systems.

  • Manage direct Product Quality Engineering resources and work across process and site organizations within the Global Product Company to ensure:

  • Effective leadership, coordination and function of QAT's
  • Consistent use of 8D process
  • Response level targets are met at D3, D4 and D6 steps in the 8D process.
  • TSB's are issued at step D6 and can be effectively used by the Sales Company's
  • Improved use of root cause analysis andproblem solvingtools within the CA

Incoming Quality Control (IQC)

  • Ensure that necessary facilities, equipment, processes and personnel are in place to verify design requirements are being met on purchased components

  • Ensure processes are in place to manage non-conforming material

  • Ensure data capture and reporting systems are in place to allow the management of supplier quality

In-Process Quality Control (IPQC)

  • Ensure that necessary equipment, processes and personnel are in place to verify design requirements are being met and detect when they are not being met on assembled machines and accessories/service kits

  • Ensure processes are in place to escalate and respond to quality related issues

  • Ensure processes are in place to identify quality related assembly issues and drive corrective action

  • Ensure processes are in place to manage incomplete or non-conforming machines

  • Ensure data capture and reporting systems are in place to allow the management of In-Process Quality

Finished Product Quality Control (FQC)

  • Ensure that necessary equipment, processes and personnel are in place to verify that finished machines and accessories/service kits have been built in accordance with defined IPQC's.

  • Ensure processes are in place to manage non-conforming machines and accessories/service kits

  • Ensure data capture and reporting systems are in place to allow the management of Finished Product Quality.

  • Contact and visit customers to support them when quality defects are found in our products and to sense the quality perception they may be having.

  • Coordinate all activities related to the QRQC (quality response for quality complaints) with the different functions of the organization.

New Product Development Support

  • Ensure that customer and design requirements are understood and that required quality controls are developed in accordance with project schedules

  • Support meeting New Product development project schedules, projectcosts andquality requirements

  • Ensure active team member participation in New Product development projects as required

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

EDUCATION:

MS or BS in Manufacturing, Industrial, Mechanical Engineering or an Engineering Technology related field

EXPERIENCE:

Minimum of 4 years of quality system and control experience within a manufacturing environment

KNOWLEDGE & PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES:

  • Proficient in quality analysis tools such as 5D, SPC, PFMEA etc. Strongproblem solvingskills with ability to teach basicproblem solvingtechniques and facilitate problem solving team events.

  • Experience in developing assembly or fabrication process quality systems & measures. Strong knowledge of fabrication andassembly basedquality control methods, tools and techniques.

  • Overall knowledge of manufacturing and/or distribution systems

  • Demonstrated leadership ability

  • Able to interact with all functional areas and all organizational levels

  • Strong communication, presentation and team skills

  • Strong organizational and time management skills

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills

  • Self-motivated with a high level of initiative

  • Strong data analysis and reporting skills

  • Fluent English

  • Strong interpersonal and customer interface skills

  • Able to be critical and accept criticism

  • Able to lead and facilitate cross functional teams

COMPUTER SKILLS:

  • Proficiency in use of MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access

  • Working knowledge of ERP systems, such as Infor LN, SAP, etc.

  • Software for statistical analysis. (Minitab)

  • Capability to learn new software.

  • Traveling regional and oversees is required in this position.
