Qualifications Required:This position requires a High School Diploma or GED and Highly Qualified status. Highly Qualified status can be achieved by completing One of the following: (1) Two year Associate of Arts degree; OR (2) The equivalent of 60-semester credits OR (3) A passing score on the MN Para Pro Test (The district can provide supported resources for completing the assessment) *This position may also include an annual offer for summer employment. In cases when summer employment is not offered or is not comparable to school-year employment, an employee in this position may have access to unemployment insurance during the summer break depending on individual circumstances as determined by the state agency.*
Duties: Will ride special education vehicles to support the needs of students as documented in Individual Education Plans. Will provide supervision and supports for health and behavior needs, and will assist the bus driver with loading of students and unbuckling of students as appropriate. Educational Assistants regularly scheduled to work 20 or more hours per week are eligible to receive district insurance benefits.
