We are currently seeking a 1st Shift Polisher with the below qualifications:

Professional Attributes

  • Meet scheduled hours and dates of all tasks, with the goal of completing tasks ahead of schedule
  • Utilize machinery & prioritize equipment usage to obtain the quickest lead times
  • Maximize efficiency by working to minimize setup and run times in all machines
  • Maintain an attitude of Continuous Improvement. Make suggestions for improvements
  • Maintain a department that is neat, organized, and clean at all times
  • Make suggestions for equipment, software, training, etc... that would make the department more efficient
  • Operate and demonstrate ability on all polishing equipment and techniques
  • Assure that the quality of work is to the satisfaction of the internal customer (Tool makers) & Westfall Engineering guidelines
  • Inspect and check component tolerances
  • Utilize print as necessary to polish parts per finish requirements and within tolerance
  • Adjust schedule as needed within the department to maximize output and reduce lead times under the direction of the Tooling Manager
  • Update the schedule as tasks are completed or their status changed
    • Mark as complete on department schedule and move onto next operation
    • Mark as ready for the next operation in the next department if applicable
  • Train Entry Level employees as required
  • Additional duties as assigned

Desired Skills and Experience

  • Two-year Technical degree preferred
  • Minimum two years of experience as a close tolerance mold polisher
  • Strong mechanical aptitude
  • Ability to operate all polishing equipment in the department. Can be learned on the job
  • Passion for accuracy, precision, and perfection; strong attention to detail
  • Organizational Abilities
  • Proven experience working in a team environment and demonstrate ability to work in a team to accomplish all tasks of the department
  • Effective communication skills both verbally and written
