Information Technology User and Network Services
The following are the duties of this position at the full working level. If this vacancy includes more than one grade and you are selected at a lower grade level, you will have the opportunity to learn to perform these duties and receive training to help you grow in this position.
Assists in the delivery of customer support services to the organization, which may include configuration, installation, and maintenance of IT equipment and systems such as switches, PBXs, desktops, laptops, printers, and fax machines as well as any other desktop support work requiring a physical touch.
Assists with basic computer or network devices such as "Break/Fix" and simple installation, additions, or changes to requirements for peripherals and device drivers.
Assists higher-grade specialists develop site preparations and install new or relocated communication equipment.
Assists with user requests and identifies equipment needs.
Assists higher-grade specialists install, configure, upgrade, and troubleshoot telecommunication or computer hardware, software, and some Local Area Network (LAN) components such as hubs and switches.
Assists other specialists to receive, respond to, and ensure complete resolution of service desk requests and develops positive customer relationships with Business Operating Division customers.
